I am thinking of ordering the white/Amber kit: http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...tang-switchback-drl-led-boards/category/1474/

As Papinist said, There are 2 globes in the fog light. The lower globe is the ugly drl. The ugly drl globe and the drl globe socket are all one piece so if you take out the globe then you have an open hole in the back of your Fog light. So I just disconnect the wiring plug and left the ugly DRL globe (with socket) in the back of the fog light. (taped it up so that no water would get in to the terminals of the ugly drl.)
The Bright yellow foglight that should only be used in a fog will still operate as normal. It looks like the second item you listed makes the foglight white. I don't know if that is legal or not in Aus and it should not be on in normal conditions anyway. Only one set of DRLs should be operational on your car and that will be your tribars if you go ahead and buy them. I encourage you to do that.:)
The white foglight does look good though. I hope this helps. If not then ask away.
I remember now..... my vx commodore had white foglights (dementia)

I know sequential signals on the back is illegal in WA.
Where did you get this impression RyoSaeba? I'm sure I've seen some new cars in Perth with sequential indicators - both front and back - Audis maybe ??

Yes, i have seen sequential tail lights on new Audi and a Lexus SUVs. Also, the new Mondeo Titanium has front sequential's.

Yes - but is the difference that those cars come with the sequential lights from factory whereas ours would be aftermarket? Would love to do it but concerned about giving an insurance company the chance to deny a claim if I got hit from behind and they say I don't have stock brake lights.

Cheers

The other difference is that those cars also have dedicated brake lights, with separate sequential indicators.

I agree. I would only do sequential indicators on the rear if the brake lights over-rode the indicators (ie would only be sequential indicators if you weren't braking).

I don't see any issue with the front though if the original indicators are retained. I don't believe Australian Design Rules would give two hoots whether it was OEM or after-market equipment. It's all about meeting a standard, and doesn't matter how you get there.

Yes you can choose to have sequential when driving normally and stock single-bar turning light when bracking.

Is the wiring reasonably straight-forward?

I also did the tri-bar job on my car over the week-end with the known method explained in this thread

1. Cut a hole in the light

2. Place the Boards inside the light and secure everything with glue

3. Seal the cut-out with a good sealant

I put a lot of glue to be sure that everything is really well sealed :D

4. The finsih view
