I was up in the canyons last week when it was 100+ degrees out and noticed that my IAT's were pretty dang high like 20+ over ambient. The air box and the intake tube were too hot to leave your hand on. So I started thinking of some ways to keep the IAT down and stop some of the heat soak. I dissembled my air intake system and coated it with satin black Cerakote ceramic insulation. I also put some 2000 degree heat barrier liner inside the top of the air box. Lastly I'm designing a intake funnel that runs from the front grill factory intake and funnels the air directly into the air box where the gap is between the two.

I'll post some pictures tonight of the mods so far. Hope to have the funnel done by Friday.

Saturday I'm going up to the canyons and can do some tests to see how the IAT's are with the mods.

Here is a picture of the gap coming from the factory air inlet in the grill.
