A/C Evaporator Factory Defect

Three weeks today and the recharge is still holding. Maybe the sealant in the refrigerant fixed the leak? For now at least. :cheers:

Are these issues considered power train warranty or only under the 3/36k bumper to bumper?

Just adding my name to the list of people whose evaporators have had to be replaced. Just got it back today, so too early to tell how long it'll last. At least right now it's better-- was warm on driver's side before like several have mentioned.

Dealer just called to say its fixed. Apparently it was the TEMPERATURE BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR. We'll see if that fix solved the problem.

Euro Mustang here, made in May 2016.

AC stopped cooling driver's side, and now it cools almost nothing even in passenger's side. Going to dealer today.

They will tell you the same as most of us here in the EU : "system is out of gas, maybe a factory issue, we will refill the system, bye" ! :frusty:
Be prepared to put a new appointment in around 4 weeks...

Is there a internal Ford service note on AC evaporators, or not? Could someone share a copy?

Anyway the part for my a/c has arrived, but being away for my summer vacation, I am scheduled to have my evaporator replaced on Tuesday August 29. At last...

Very poor attitude from Ford Europe.

It's a known issue. Why do they make their costumers to waste time instead of replacing the defective part?

I can understand it's too big an operation (you have to disassemble the whole dashboard, AFAIK) to make a recall, but if a costumer complains AC is not cooling (it's not normal on a 1 year old car, for God sake), it should be replaced no questions asked.

It's really annoying to drive the car with 30ºC on the outside and the air vents blowing hot air (as it is not cooling, fans are always on max speed or near it in auto).

Well ...try 40 degrees...

My car was by the dealer today for the A/C problem.

They checked everything and found the leak, it's not the A/C evaporator but the A/C condenser (as they told me).

Do someone had the same issue on his car or have they told me bullshit ?
