Sync 3 Nave Map Update

My 2016 Sync 3 Nav Map is way out of date. I end up using Google Maps on my android phone for many searches.
How can I update the map database?

You give ford money, they give you an updated map.

Thanks Quackfoo, that's what I figured. I talked to a local Ford service rep who said I have to replace the micro SD card. Two more questions:
Where is the micro SD card?? I don't see it. I'm not sure she really knows how it's done!
How often do they update the maps?

thats where we are wrong, the latest map version is in 2017s, version 1 15, our 2016 is map version 1 14

I'm guessing it's still in the center console unless they moved it with Sync 3.

I will look it over again tomorrow

There is no SD card in sync 3. It updates maps via WiFi. And updates software via flash drive.

sync 3 doesnt have SD slot, im pretty sure map updates will be in USB formats..not DVD
