Thanks you guys for your response..what is the average horsepower gain ..?
The transmission tuning is more important than the power. But you should gain10-15HP

So I am guessing the tune could impact your warranty. Do you guys just revert to stock before an oil change (those that don't do it themselves)? I too have been considering a tune for my '16 auto in the future.

Is a tune worth it? My gosh, Yes! But don't tune till you have put all your bolt on engine mods first. Then as another forum member has just said, it ties it all together. Three mustangs and tunes ran on my last two. Both were done at low mileage and no issues what so ever till I sold them at 60000 miles on the odometer. The only time you need to flash it back to stock when taking it to the dealership is when you have actual engine work being done, but I hate to say they know if the engine has been flashed. Tunes from a reputable company won't screw your engine up. I has two Bama tuned Mustangs but MPT or JDM seems to the choice this time around on this gen.

If the new tunes increase power AND seemingly increase MPG...

Why is the stock tune just so poor?
IMO ford neutered the V6 both in performance and options to get more customers to purchase the Eco-boost. Compare the 2014 V6 vs 2015 eco numbers were too close and needed to be adjusted to make the eco look better.

2014
3.7-liter V6
305 horsepower @ 6,500 rpm
280 lb-ft of torque @ 4,250 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy 19/29 mpg (manual), 19/31 mpg (automatic)

2015
3.7-liter V6
300 horsepower @ 6,500 rpm
280 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy: 17/28 mpg (manual), 19/28 mpg (automatic)

2015 Eco-boost
2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4
310 horsepower @ 5,500 rpm
320 lb-ft of torque @ 3,000 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy: 22/31 mpg (manual), 21/32 mpg (automatic)

BTW - once warranty is up going to get the MPT tune mostly for the transmission changes and throttle response.

I have a 15 V6 auto 51A premium, installed a Pedal MAX, SCTx4 93 tune which you can go to the menu and change your idle and redline 7200 rpm's, increase the shifting firmness of your auto from factory to +25% in all gears. This combo makes the V6 very quick off the line and through the gears to top end. I've had this combo for 2 years and very pleased.
Can you explain what the +25% in gears do/feel like?

From what I remember upon it's debut, the S550's GT's and Ecoboost were rated at 93 octane whereas the V6's power was rated on 87 octane.. If it were on 93 octane I imagine the numbers would be identical if not better than the previous gen S197 V6.

Yes, on the SCTx4 93 tuner you have a menu that allows you to adjust the pressure flow in the auto tranny, it allows you to adjust the pressure of fluid flow from factory setting and increase it in steps of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%. At 25% the shifting firmness is such that I can catch a good long chirp in 2nd gear. Instead of the tranny sliding into gear it shifts hard and firm you can feel, which is better for the tranny. You can feel the shifting firmness shift up and also down shifting. I've had mine installed for 2 years and 12,500 miles with no problum and I only paddle shift in S my stang never see D. I also have my red line set at 7200 rpm's and removed the speed limiter from 120 mph to 160 mph. I've only had my to 135 mph so far, working to see what the upper limit is.

Thanks for the tag. We offer tuning for the 15+ V6 and have seen great results. Transmission shifting and pressures are night and day difference, throttle response is much faster, gas mileage is better and power is increased. We also sent Larry1990 I believe on here a tune for his v6 with a 100 shot of nitrous. All of our customers are very happy with their tunes and have nothing but great things to say! http://www.teamjdm.com/2015-2017-v6-mustang-custom-tuning-1/
Nice I spoke to Larry1990 many times on here stand up guy. Results from his previous tuner always trapped low in the 1/4 mile along with artificial throttle that fell off in upper rpms response while the tuner could never figure it out and said it was "fine". Glad you guys are setting him straight with your tune.

Hypertech has a great tune for the 17-15 Mustang 3.7 in their Max Energy 2.0. And a bunch of other addtional performance features that come in that programmer too. I would check their website and do a product search. I think its hypertech.com.
