Watson Racing rips off a massive RWHP number with there SEMA street/strip car with a Whipple 2.9L supercharger

To say the S550 is hot is an understatement. The new lines, the revised Coyote 5.0L engine and a host of new performance products. Watson Racing got moving on the 2015 Mustang immediately and debuted it at the SEMA show. After the show, the team at Watson shocked everyone by laying down a massive 928rwhp number with plenty of room to grow.

Many got a chance to see the Watson car in the Ford Booth at the 2014 Sema Show. Some may have noticed it had a smaller 2.3L supercharger. With sometime after the show, Watson choose to maximize the built engine they had with the larger 2.9L supercharger. With the bigger SC, they could better utilize the stock block with the forged pistons and custom camshafts.

With the help of American Racing Headers, BASF, Centerforce, Dynotech driveshafts, F.A.S.T., Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance Racing Parts, Ice Nine Customs, M&H tires, Magnaflow, Optic Armor, SPC Interiors, Strange Engineering, Teamtech, Tremec, Weld Wheels, and Whipple Superchargers, Watson has put together a beautiful new Mustang with performance to back up its good looks.

Since the Mustang plans to be mainly a drag vehicle, Kim Mapes of Watson Racing swapped out the factory PCM and electronics for a F.A.S.T system. So don't be worried bout the lack of the MAF housing and big filter, the F.A.S.T. is a speed density based system which only needs a MAP sensor in the manifold.

With the new Whipple 2.9L front feed supercharger, massive 132mm throttle body and ridiculously big intercooler system, the Mustang ripped off 928rwhp and 702 rwtrq using drag radials. Kim felt this was still a conservative tune, while also using a 6-rib belt system. Next up was Whipple's 10-rib upgrade kit with ATI balancer and some updated tuning and some test passes to get this monster dialed in.

Whipple, do you know if the cams are locked out, or if the cam timing was changed any?

I'm in love with this car. In some of the photos, it looks like the back wheels/tires stick out a smidge from the fender? But in the video, it seems they're tucked. I know the car is custom as hell, so asking for dimensions on wheels/tires makes little sense.
