The garage has just called me saying they are having trouble re-fitting the starter motor after installing the headers. Does anyone know why this is or how they get around it ?

From what i'd seen under the car, the starter motor is practically 1mm away from the headers, and it also rubs with a steering control arm as well. Kooks are looking at making a "new" set where these issues are alleviated.

As for fitting them... I guess leave the starter motor on and work around it? It's been done so can't be "that" hard lol.

(Think all other Kooks owners such as Sheps, Wolf etc, had them done by Mike at Modurstang so worth a call down to them to see if he can help :)! )

Spoke to Modurstang, needed to talk to them about my hood vents anyway, did feel a bit cheeky asking though and I got the feeling he wasn't amused

I've wanted to go to Modurstang for a while but for personal reasons haven't been able to but I feel I might have to with the issues I'm having with my local garage.

They're an hour and a half away from me, it's why I haven't been to GT101 either :(
In Scotland that's like "round the corner" ;)

It's not the car that's the problem, I'm the one that's broken :(

The steeda lowering engine mounts give more room. I don't have those so Modurstang moved the engine all the way across to the left within the play tolerances of the engine mounts and that just gave enough room to clear the steering and starter motor. Those Kooks headers will need a tune though. Otherwise you get P0420Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold engine check light warnings when you give it the beans

^ ah yes, forgot about this, the Engine mounts are needed otherwise you can't get to it in place, it needs propped.

CJ Pony Parts have an excellent YouTube video that documents the install of the full American Racing Headers and exhaust system. Install will be the same for the Kooks.

Maybe point your shop to take a look:

Tim, RHD there's a few things in a few different positions and different pipe works on the headers :)!
