Michellin Pilot Super Sports (255/40/ZR19 100Y)

https://www.asdatyres.co.uk/michelin/pilot-super-sport/255-40-19-100-y-xl-pilot-super-sport

I have the above on my rears :). Paid just under £180 a tyre, they've gone up a bit recently, the Michelin PS4S are coming out soon, which are meant to be better than the MPSS's.

Edit cheapest I could find, Asda does come with fitting and disposal of old tyres should you wish:

I got the Pilot Super Sports as well (295/35/20) and paid £275 per tire in December 2016. I know:crazy:
Did not have much time to search for a better price.

Paid £1150 plus tax (GST which is 5% over here) for 2 x 295/35R20 and 2 x 265/35 R20 Pilot Super Sports (including fitting the new TPMS I supplied, fitting, balancing) back in December.

Couldn't find a cheaper price anywhere at the time, including t'internet!

Don't know whether prices are going up on MPSS as a result of run-out prior to PS4S, but the guy at my tyre supplier said they were very limited on the availability front (from their various suppliers) and the discounts they usually got on them had been reduced, which could have been bullshit... but like I said, no-one else I tried could offer a better price... so might just be the case!

Well worth every penny though as much better looking tyre and MAJOR difference in grip level.

They've discontinued MPSS in its entirity, what's out there for sale out there at the minute are the final variants, the PS4S' will be the new halo tyre of the category for Michellin. There was a press release back in I think oct/Nov about it.

That's about what I just paid for mine. Interestingly. I did take a look at other makes such as the Goodyear F1 but they were not enough of a saving to not have my first choice tyre.

What you could do on the stock wheels is:

265/35 ZR19 98 (Y) XL
285/35 ZR19 103 (Y) XL

Would be best compromise, you lose a little tyre wall so would only look good on a lowered car and maybe still look a touch odd then.

Right now Super Sports are still the best bet as available in correct sizing. :)

If you use Asda, put in 140 followed by 7 random digits in the coupon part, for a sizeable discount ;)

No, it's all inclusive, you used to, but it's changed, you book a centre near you and pay the total to them on the day.

Top left ;)

Yeah I read that and that's when I started to get concerned about being able to get them, what with the PS4S not being available in certain sizes... then I read somewhere (on another forum) that they were 'apparently' going to continue production of the MPSS in the limited sizes that weren't being produced in the initial PS4S runs to give continuity of availability... and let's be honest there's a shit load of drivers out there on MPSS that will be needing replacements in the sizes that won't be available in the initial PS4S runs that Michelin won't want to risk losing (to the likes of Goodyear/Continental), so it does make sense and seem plausible!

This may be why the price of MPSS has increased... having to retain a secondary production line for them!?!

Once you've selected your fitters, it goes to this page:

You'll see Asda Key in green. Notice the price before application.

Now look at the price :)
