There's been a lot of speculation on whether or not we are getting a GT500 replacement and very little proof

We won't know until an official announcement from Ford.

I can tell you.. YES. I have a connection that has been inside the ford plant and saw the GT500 prototype as well as the engines.
What were the power plants?

There has to be a GT500 if Ford wants to compete with new ZL1 and maybe Z28. Won't be surprised if more news comes out about it starting in early Jan 2018

Why would Ford want to compete with GM trim levels that sell poorly? Heck, the Camaro can hardly outsell the Challenger. All this "Ford has to answer" stuff is just from people who want bragging rights.

Amen:thumbsup:

Bragging rights are grand. Where would we be without bragging rights ?

Out on the road enjoying our cars instead of worrying about things that don't matter.

It's more than just bragging rights. A big reason the Challenger had a sales resurgence over the last couple of years was the PR from the Hellcat. It's hard to know how large the effect is, but the high end aspirational models can definitely help increase awareness of the cars and get people into showrooms.

No, technically it is not a GT500.

GT500 is just a name isn't it that harkens back to the early days - AFAIK it doesn't have any significance to engine size.
