Today, i decided to go to the Detroit auto show with my girlfriend. Once i walked in we immediately ran over to the 2018 gt that was on display. It was an oxford white car with the black package, similar to the 2015 i own. So i looked at the car from front to back, took photos and just contimplated if it looked better in person compared to the internet photos. It has grown on me in the past couple of days, and while i was checking it out in person i thought to myself "Hey, this isn't half bad." So after 10 mintues of staring at this 18 i went and checked out what else Ford had in their booth. I came across a 2017 GT PP in race red with ott stripes. I am not the biggest fan or red cars but the instant i saw it, i said to myself "This is sooooo much better looking than then 2018 and it isn't even close." The 2017 in person is just a way more better looking, and more agressive looking car. Don't get me wrong, all the new additions the 2018 has to offer is 100% better than the current S550 except for the front end and hood. I tried to convince myself that i love it, but i dont. It grew on me, but in no way shape or form doesnt it look better the the 15-17 S550s.

Below i have some angles of the new GT that really havent been seen yet. Also, while i was looking at the new hood vents i noticed that they seemed kind of out of place. I touched one and it seemed kind of loose. I actually was able to pull up on the vent up easily and got my finger underneath it. It seemed to be held on by some 3M tape or something? Lol. Idk i hope the quailty is better on the actual 18 production model.

I REALLY appreciate this post. What you said is exactly how I feel and, though I haven't seen the '18 in person yet, I feel my reaction would be exactly the same as yours. That said...I feel like my decision to go with a '17 vs '18 has been solidified...the '17 just looks much better IMO.

I was looking forward to seeing opinions from people who have actually seen it in person, so thanks! Did you take any pictures of the 2017 GT PP by any chance?

18 looks less aggressive in comparison from the front. The low hood looks like an audi.

No i did not just because i have one and weve all seen them but a beautiful car! And does the 15-17 look better IMO? Yes. But the 2018 will sell very well because all the new options are what we have all wanted! Hopefully hp numbers are 460 plus, and if they are the 18 will be a huge hit. The only let down is the front end and hood (which still looks good but not as good as the 15-17) but im sure that can be an easy fix with all the aftermarket companies that will be making tons of parts for the 18-19 MY.

I haven't seen mention anywhere and it's a little hard to tell from the pics but are the hood vents on the 2018 fake? Like the inserts from the 99-04 Mustangs?

Those hood extractors being totally fake is super lame.

Love the dual exhaust

NICE PICS.

Ford got it right with the stock quad exhaust. I spent a lot getting my base model GT a roush valance, a new premium bumper and paint and body..thanks Ford.

I still would prefer a GT350 like rear but that's just me...quad exhaust is an excellent touch

Thanks for the pics.

I have a feeling Ford will revisit the hood vent design before the release. Something cosmetic & minor as those can be redesigned to look better and they have about 3-4 months to accomplish it.

Funniest thing about this is I scrolled through the pictures and ended up at the last one and thought "Actually it looks really good, the hood looks much better and more aggressive than I thought"
And then realised that I was looking at the 2017!!!

When you look at the two pics of the front end on the same page, the 2017 is much better.
