My guess would be 460 so it will beat the Camaro.
And match the Corvette...The Camaro supposedly got 455 VS 460 despite sharing an engine because they didn't want their pony car matching their halo model. Would be pretty neat to hear the disdain about those "cheap" Mustangs having the same HP.

I SAY 455
Goddam, hahahaha!

I'm saying the same, I don't think the TQ will increase as much (per the first post), I'm betting 465/415, it's a good 10 ponies over the Camaro and I think the DI/compression/RPM is easily good for the +30HP over the current gen.

Its not the same motor though. Pretty much all of the internals have changed. Sure its the same block and maybe similar heads but thats about it.
It's still a 5.0 Coyote motor. Where did they mentioned that they changed the internals?

If it did, great!

In one of the interviews, they stated that the only part that carried over from the previous coyote was the crankshaft.

455. It will be the minimal increase to compete with the camaro on power. Ford needs to leave something on the table for the s650 which I predict will be 470. s550 is already killing the new camaro in sales, so no need for a hp war. They'll simply keep it competitive performance wise and beat GM in every other metric.

What is the edge of the envelope for the Coyote?

I'm interpreting some of the official Ford interior pics as hints.

I'm highest without going over. lol

My money is on 460hp. +5 over Camaro simply to thumb their nose at Camaro owners - and like others have said, that'll leave ample room for improvement for Shelby models and the next generation.

I can't really imagine direct injection and a slight bump in compression doing a whole lot to output in any case. Might help economy if they do it right, but I can't see it adding more than 50hp.

Based on what I keep reading my guess is a 10% hp bump and to be conservative a 5% tq bump. I would not be surprised if the gt350 has similar gains if they add direct port injection to it as well.

GT 470 to 480 hp and 420 to 430 tq
GT350 570 to 580 hp and 440 to 455 tq

I imagine they will bump the gt350 up to destroy the 1le and be ready for the upcoming z28. Also to further itself from the Gt

So the revised 5.0 Coyote is getting the compression ratio boosted from 11:1 upto 12:1 matching the 5.2 Voodoo.
Where did you read that the 5.0 engine is going to have the compression from 11:1 to 12:1??
Is there a link?
