You guys have to be careful on the torque. The highest NA V8 ever produced made 88.4tq/L (458 itialia).

The mustang will likely have 415 tq and I'm guessing 465hp. I haven't calculates anything, however with the volumetric efficiencies, CR, packaging, engine speed (now7400), and DI/PI, this third gen coyote is capable of 100hp/L.

We'll potentially see that in the next generation or the next special model as the voodoo has set new NA ford standards. Yes it has a FPC but you can easily make that power with a CPC as we've seen.

455.

That guy that found the details in the gauge cluster seemed smart.

460-465, I can't imagine them just matching the Camaro. Have to believe they want to surpass it even if only by a small amount.

4.5L in the Italia had 398tq from DI only. The extra half a liter and PI easily support more than 415 in combination with the bump in compression and DI.

I would guess 455 HP and 415 lb torque.

I really hope they do 460 just to rub in on the Camaro! HAHA

More importantly, how much of the increase is going to be throughout the curve. Don't care about the max number. How much can direct injection add, and is it throughout the curve or just the top end?

Just because the changes mean that they can get XXX more power doesn't mean that's the route they are taking. If this is the same V8 that is going to be used in the 2020 they are going to hold back some power for additional bumps. My guessing is 20-25hp increase over current model. Just enough to make things look bigger in paper.
^^^This. I'd bet they save some of that potential HP for later. I'm going with 455.

The Camaro gained 29 HP and 35 TQ from DI. I'd say since the 5.0 flows better than a a pushrod engine we'll see at least 30 HP but since there's less cubes to push I'll guess 25-30 TQ.

So 470HP 425TQ. That leaves plenty of room for them to bump it to 500/440 for 2021. I'd wait for the 2021 but I been waiting since 2014 when we found out the 2015 Mustang basically had a carryover drivetrain.
I would love to see 470/425 but I highly doubt that it will happen. The Camaro didn't get the HP bump just from going DI.. it's a completely different motor. The LT1 w/ DI already made the numbers, GM just put it in the Camaro.

I would say since it's the same motor with PI/DI it will be 455/460 and 415/420.

The real question if it can lose 60-100 lbs from the chassis. That along with the power bump can really close the gap vs the Camaro.

Its not the same motor though. Pretty much all of the internals have changed. Sure its the same block and maybe similar heads but thats about it.

My guess would be 460 so it will beat the Camaro.

With the changes I'm guessing 450 to 460hp.
