I don't need to clink the link since I know Larry personally and I'm on that site as well as SVT. My best in positive D/A was 11.2. At that track it would have been a 10 second pass. Oh and with 3.15's mind you.

Brett (WBT) has beatin that record anyways now.
Well if you know Larry personally then you know his car went 10's more then once with the 4.10's, not sure why you said it didn't?

I'm fully aware of wbt and kdanner's accomplishments. My 2012 ran 11.62 with 3.15's and stock converter.

Anyway again I just posted for informational purposes.

Ok so how would a circle D converter perform for regular street driving or on an occasional road course visit?

And thx for the replies everyone.

stalled auto do drive differently than a stock converter car will. With circle ds lockup though its not that bad or noticeable.

Something like a 3C/4C shouldn't be too bad for daily driving.

Anything after about 40mph you cant tell the difference between stock converter for driving characteristics.

Chris I may be updating my Circle D Converter, my 3C would be perfect in your car and since were so close to each other might save you some serious coin aswell...let me know. the 355 gears in your car are great dont touch them, i am still running 315's and i wont change them out....your gains will come from a converter.

There are no 4.10's available for these cars and there would be no need to put 4.10's behind an auto. It would be very foolish.
Yes there are 4.10 gears for the super 8.8 from us gear.

Thanks, Heinz. My biggest concern is how it would do on the road course because, as you know, I like doing both that and the strip. I don't want to do something that's gonna screw up that balance.

They do not make 4.10's for THESE cars. Period.
They make 3.73 3.91 4.11 gears for the super 8.8 IRS differential.

The only housing these gears won't fit are housing that are originally fitted with 3.15 gears.

So which is it, 4.10's or 4.11's now? You can't even seem to get your numbers right.

It doesn't matter if they are 4.09-4.10 or 4.11. They are available bigger then 3.73.

Ok, I know what I am talking about and I RACE!

anything above 3.73s is TOOOO much in the new 6R80 automatics 2011-up.

I watched a guy with a crappy tune, who wouldn't listen go from
solid 12.5s (which is slow to me) with 3.15s in a 2014 GT....install
4.10s..... now runs 12.8s-12.9s.

I personally have 3.15s, and think the best auto gear are the 3.31s, but not
worth changing to me.
I have been 11.88 stock converter.... 11.40 with Circle D 5c.
if you are staying none power adder.... 4c-5c is fine, they even make a 6c now.

With forced induction or similar, probably 3c-4c max.

Mine 5c is very streetable, and you will hardly notice cruising around normally.

Good Luck. the 6R80s are gears very nice!!!! That is why they work so well.

OP I'd for go the gear swap for now and put in a 4c converter or similar 3500-3800 converter. I believe Circle D is the highest quality converter out there though. It'll offer you plenty of performance NA. But it'll still be a solid choice if you go forced induction down the road. It shouldn't cost you any more than a gear swap either. The converter is just like stock as long as your not poking around at 10 miles per hour. You wont notice it's there during normal driving.
