Thank you all for your survey feedback thus far. If you have not filled it out yet, please take a moment to let us know what your wheel preferences are. Your feedback will be directly shaping the details of our Mustang program:thumbsup:

Get those wheels produced and they will fly off the shelves :)

SM10 or EC7 only please. =)

We need the big brake clearance for PP owners.

Also, the SM10's concavity is nice and yields excellent brake clearance.

Very excited to see your wheels!

And of course, EC7 is a classic design that I love and have used on my M3.

I'm glad we finally got your attention APEX!

2 sets 18x11ET50 and 2 sets 19x11ET50 cash today?
EC-7 or SM-10. Weight is second priority after durability. Not interested in trying to save 1 lb out of 25 lb if it means I might experience a wheel coming apart at 140 mph while half way across the Chihuahuan desert or up in the mountains.

Color is optional to me -will black plastidip or spray paint if needed.

These cars can run fronts 10.5 wide and rears 12 bone stock Eco, GT, PP GT.

I am guessing the width demand from likely buyers in highest to lowest:
10.5
11
10
11.5 and/or 12
9.5
13

For first size and ET, please consider a rear that can be run square with front spacers for all your track customers.

I will buy 11 wide today, but could see where 10.5 wide just has to be #1 priority as its generally the widest front without suspension or body mods and will thus get the largest initial S550 customer base.

Second, maybe the 11 for staggered rear and also capable of being run front for square with 1" spacer (so ET 51 to ET 48) for modded suspension/body?

The OEM wheels and saturated aftermarket has the 8, 9, 9.5 sizes covered so maybe skip those until after 10.5, 11, 10 and then a 11.5 or 12?

Business wise, If I had to put down $20-30k of my own money to finance 200 wheels, I would go 18x10.5 even though I personally want 11. Are you open to investors?

Guys, am I totally off base here?
Much thanks to APEX for considering the S550 crowd! We wont let you down!

I am waiting as well but can not wait to long, lead time on Forgestar is 5-6 weeks and even though I have a set of EC-7 now and really want them all to match, track season will be here very soon. I need to make a move very soon if I am going to have the additional 2 sets of wheels by the end of March.

What I need to know from ApexRaceParts is based on the interest so far is it realistic to believe Apex will have inventory on EC-7s 18 x 10 ET43 by the end of March? I believe there are a bunch of guys willing to do a micro group buy on this one wheel size alone. The wheel has been built before so design is complete just need a production date.

If so I am in for 10 wheels all 18 x 10 EC-7 ET43 in Anthracite.

Anything in 18x10 et 43, 18x10.5 et 48 or 18x11 et50 that will clear the PP brakes.

I really think the 18x10 et43 line (EC-7) should be continued. Those that have the first run of EC-7 would benefit from continued support. Personally I'm a huge fan of EC-7. I would bet that the masses on this forum would like the EC-7 in expanded offset/sizes as it is a better price point with proven performance/brake clearance.

Either way, please support us and show us what you got!

Thank you guys. We agree that clearing popular BBK's, whether they are factory or aftermarket kits, is essential. The existing EC-7 18x10 ET43 had impressive brake clearance, clearing the 14" and GT500 15" Brembo BBK's often used on the S197 chassis. They also clear the S550 PP brakes :headbang: The new SM-10 design also has massive BBK clearance embedded into its DNA.

Appreciate the feedback. Would you run this as a square setup, and with what tire size? I ask because I am curious to see if there is real demand for an 18x9.5" ET35. I believe it is a good option for a square fitment for customers who may not require a wider 10" or 10.5"wheel. Second, an 18x9.5" ET35 would be a good fit for the front of the car should customers choose to go staggered with a 10.5" or 11" rear.

Also IIRC, there are some racing classes which limit wheel width to 9.5" - American Iron Series being one of them.

Fantastic feedback, and I am very much in agreement on many levels. I have no doubt, a majority of the weekend warriors out there will be supporting the production of 18x10" and 18x10.5" wheels that can be ran in a true, rotatable square format. An 18x11" wheel should also drive some major interest, however the debate will likely be centered around whether or not we should produce one or two 18x11" SKUs.

In one direction we can produce one SKU which offers the customer the ability to rotate wheels and tires on all four corners of the car. Naturally spacers would become a requirement up front for proper strut clearance.

On the other hand, we could manufacture two 18x11" SKUs which have specific offsets for the front and rear of the car. This fitment would be spacerless, however drivers would not be able to rotate effectively.

Thoughts?

Dave, thank you for driving us forward. I am communicating with our production team in regards to you questions, and will get back to you and the community as soon as possible so that you may plan accordingly for the upcoming season. The EC-7 18x9.5" ET35 and 18x10" ET43 Mustang toolings are already in existence, therefore it may be possible to expedite the timeline for those specific units.

Eric, your feedback is well received. As mentioned above, I will report back on that topic as soon as possible.

Here are a couple photo's of the pre-existing EC-7 18x10" ET43 wheels clearing various BBK's.

Thanks Ryan for the response, I really do think you can sell a small run of the EC-7 18x10" ET43 and have them pre-sold before the production run is made. The trick would be getting everyone to decide on a single finish to keep things simple if it is not going to be a stocking item for you going forward. If this is to be a limited run, please let us know as it would likely change the count on the number of wheels I would want. If the time line would allow for a March delivery and it was going to be limited to only this one run I would likely buy a spare wheel or two to have on the shelf in case of damage to an in service wheel.

To meet my timeline my deadline for at least one set of wheels to be ordered from a competitor is next Friday, so any info you can offer about the prospects of a production run would be appreciated. I would really like to continue using the Apex wheel.

What do you think would be a min. number of wheels in the 18x10 sizes that would make this happen.

I know I would prefer to run a spacer and have a true square setup of 18x11.

I know the EC-7 18 x 9 ET30, 18 x 9.5 ET35, and the 18 x 10 ET43 all clear the PP brake system on the S550.

As far as I know at least in the EC-7 they never made a 18 x 9 ET35.
