You don’t want to know
It looks like the standard Forscan is compatible with PCs only - but there are "light" versions for Android and IOS mobile devices. Do all of the versions include access to the same Commands?

Are you talking about the interior exhaust sound speaker? That might be cool to disable at least to see what it is doing to the exhaust sound.
mine came disabled from the factory.

I like to disassemble things.
Couple of other things. There was a parameter change allowed for remote start. I'm told if you get the appropriate FOB and program it for you car, you can enable it (it is listed in one of the screenshots up above) and it will work on your car. I'm unsure if it would allow engagement if in gear though.

I also found this one but am unsure as to what enabling the green would do (for ambient only? electric door sill function if you had them?).

I'd also like to change to the R model snake on the radio screen if that can be done. Lots of digging to do.:)

Something I never bothered to check out, does your car even have speaker grilles in the doors?

Who's going to be the first to enable transmission temp on base and Tech cars?

So I'm comparing my 2017 to my old 2016 Tech pack as downloaded from the Motorcraft site.

I'd assume Trans temperature is located in the IPC - Instrument Panel Control Module.

Comparing the as-builts, here are the differences:

Code:
Address    2016 Tech       ->  2017
720-01-01  8C0B 1064 6094  ->  8C0B 1004 6034
720-06-01  7F6D 0664 9E22  ->  7F6D 9664 9EB2
So while I do have the trans/diff temps now, I decided to prove that these blocks will in fact change the display of them. So I loaded the ’16 Tech values into my ’17, and voila, no more trans/diff temps. Reverted back to my stock values and the temps reappeared.

I recommend dissecting this a bit more. One of the addresses may be for trans. display, the other might be diff display. Or one of those addresses may control both with the two 16-bit values that change. Either way, if you have it expecting a diff temp with no diff sensor, you may throw a code. Or it maybe a silent DTC. I don’t expect that to be a huge problem for you guys that really want your trans. temp though.

For further intrigue, I looked at a 2016 Track car’s values. Address 720-01-01 is the same as the 2016 Tech. However, address 720-06-01 shares the same second value as the ’17 (9664). The third value is different between all three vehicles (9CB0). If I were a bettin’ man, I’d say the value that changes which lines to display in the gauge detail is that second value of 720-06-01. Incidentally, the difference between 06 and 96 in hexidecimal is two bits. I’m guessing that one of the bits is for trans, the other is for diff. If it weren’t so damn hot out in my garage, I’d test out the hypothesis right now. But it is and I want to play No Man’s Sky so… there you have it.

Look forward to hearing if non-Track ’16 cars can read the transmission temp appropriately!

So can we with a '16 just load the '17 values and have trans temp? Or is that not how it works?

Presumably, yes. They all have trans. temp sensors and I wouldn't imagine they work any differently between models as far as the CANBUS is concerned. But I don't have a '16 to prove that on.

At this point, I'd say just change the second value of 720-06-01 to 9664 and see if that does the trick. I might poke around more tomorrow morning when it's not as balls hot out.

So it turns out I was 100% correct. The second value of 720-06-01 does control the display of those two line items.

I learned in the process of tinkering with this that the last byte of the third value is the checksum for the address. I also discovered that a guy on the ForScan forum wrote a very handy tool for calculating checksums and comparing asbuilt files. Kudos to him for making this no-brainer work (though I did this by hand because I didn't know any better :). http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2012&start=10

So without further ado...

Code:
Address 720-06-01

No Axle or Trans Display 7F6D 0664 9E22
Axle Oil Display            7F6D 1664 9E32
Trans Oil Display           7F6D 8664 9EA2
Both Axle and Trans Display 7F6D 9664 9EB2

I can't believe I didn't even consider looking for that one! Next time I see him I'll take another look and see what I can find.
WTH? Get on it!!
