i plan to include a carbon cover in my intake kit....it needs to be glued on, and I will provide the glue. this was one of the first mods I did to my car...the change in sound wasn't much. the "muffler" on the inlet pipe is probably doing more....so when I make the new pipe....it should pretty much sound like a aftermarket intake, maybe just slightly quieter.

I haven't been sold on the CAI idea but a bigger intake for the stock air box has my interest piqued.
I think this is what you are loking for......

I'll modify my stock box for now since it is the cheapest.
Nothing wrong with the stock box. It flows great and it is easier to service.

Just a quick teaser pic. I'll have better pictures (showing the catch can, pipe comparison etc.) later this week once the breather filters come in. PCV is now deleted as well. No more hot oily air going into the manifold. This modular intake tube was done using $30.00 Ebay 102mm IC pipe.

Thank you. Noise is quiet as OEM. There is some increased throttle response, nothing ground breaking. Driveability seems good, didn't seem to loose any bottom end. AFRs look safe. Going to head back to the track to see what the trap speeds say. I have noticed that IATs go down ALOT faster; this is most likely due to the PCV being deleted.

So after some extended test driving it looks like the car does indeed pull stronger (looks like fueling finally compensated) and IATs are at an all time low even in this 95*-97* weather. IATs also take longer to climb. The Cyclone seems to really like having the PCV deleted. Can't wait to pair this with a 93 oct tune and Reische 170* T-stat. I will be heading out to the track once this heat wave is over.
