I'm with you. I grew up during the muscle car era and while there were some really cool looking cars. That said, I would not want an older muscle car. I know there is nostalgia for these older muscle cars but most were meant to go in a straight line and lack power by today's standards. Older muscle cars are fun to look at but for me but I'd never want to own one. That's just my personal opinion.Maybe I'm an odd-ball, but I have no urge to own muscle cars of my youth. Don't get me wrong, I still appreciate those cars. I just prefer new technology. As an example, I had a '69 GTO in high school in the early 70's. It was a hoot. But I've moved on. The GTO was hard-pressed to get over 1 hp per cubic inch without significant mods. The car considered turning and stopping as mere "suggestions." The interior was 60's plastic. The exterior wanted to rust. I spent a lot of time wrenching on it.
This is why I have a '17 GT350 in my garage. Almost 50 years later, it is light-years ahead of the old Goat. Perhaps this is the basis for the restomod movement. Admittedly, I get nostalgic for the old car now and then. Perhaps it was the "alternate use" of the back seat, I dunno. All it takes is a look at an old muscle car in a show and I recall just how primitive they are. Then I get in my GT350 and drive off with a major grin on my face.
Saleen Foxbody's can be had for a great deal still, 93' Cobra's are coming up in price but have a lot of room north to move ... Early AMG car's (C36,C43,E55)
E36 M3's still cheap, E46 M3's in the right colors (Laguna Seca Blue, Phoenix Yellow) Integra Type R's have been REAL strong lately. .
Right on... I'm actually looking at buying a '93 Cobra from a pony club member this spring. If I had been at BJ, I probably would've been bidding on the '99 M3 convertible and Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo earlier in the week.
This mint, 1996 mystichrome with 217 miles went for.. $21k. Damn, I wish. One sold last week at Mecum-kississmee for $35k.
Like others have said, there was a lot of that. I was on and off too and in disbelief that some of these cars were selling so low. This mint, 1996 mystichrome with 217 miles went for.. $21k. Damn, I wish.

Yep. Did you see the winning bids on the Buick GS & GSX Stage 1 cars? I've always been a big fan of the older Buicks, so I was happy to see that they're finally getting the appreciation they deserve.I'm finding that the less mainstream muscle, like galaxies, are also going up a fair amount. a friend of mine just sold a galaxie build that is similar to mine ( protouring build on a not special 289 fastback with boring options) for 85K, which was about triple what it would have brought 5 years ago.
