I received my FRP/Borla exhaust system today. I was a little concerned about the build date and whether or not it was an "early system" or not. Based on the construction, I see a number of improvements made over the system as depicted earlier in this thread. Bends look uniform, welds look to have adequate coverage/penetration, and the cuts are clean and square. The butterfly valve has been changed along with the casting as well as the cradle for the factory valve motor. I'm eager to install the system but won't be touching it until early spring.

Wow what a HUGH IMPROVEMENT over the system I was sent months ago.

When did you get your system and/or if you know, when was it made? Labeled incorrectly, here's mine.

Mine was 1 of the first 10. I posted all the pics on this thread. The quality was poor but it's nice to see they seem to of fixed those issues.

I was just curious as to when Borla instituted the changes David hinted at. I notice the butterfly valve and assembly is completely different than the early ones too.

Correct, my valve perch was fabricated not stamped.
Please tell me the valve perch is 304 stainless! Looks like its aluminized or 409. Is it magnetic?

It can be magnetic or not and still be stainless based on different material properties. When I get the chance I'll take a closer look. I don't think it's aluminized though.

Thats what I mean. If it's 304 it will not be magnetic. If it's 409 it will be magnetic.

304 can be either way depending on cold working, etc.

the Borla ATAK is 2.75 all the way through. The valve housing ID was increased for better flow and the valve housing mount now installs like the factory exhaust. I installed the replacement system and it fits like a champ!

Ok, but unless im mistaken, thats the Ford Performance by Borla exhaust, not the Borla ATAK? David@Borla did confirm in another post here that both are 2.75" through though.
