That's very possible. Do we even know if there have been head, cam or intake changes?

I've read that all of those things have changed, and the size of the motor's displacement.

Good tires + rear dampening are probably the biggest factor. 35hp doesn't = 5/tenths of a second.

I was thinking along these lines too...about torque. That's one reason the Camaro is so quick, it's up 55 ft lbs on the current Mustang. The '18 makes up 20 ft lbs of that, and if it comes on down low even better.

I think it's all about the magneride actively going soft in the rear to allow the big weight transfer for way better traction otherwise it's just spin spin spin.:ford:

I think the extra 500 rpm also help the car get to 60 faster.

The tq limiting is huge. AED was running some stellar times at the track with a car that didn't have any hp bump, just not allowing the car to limit itself and tranny tuning IIRC.

Tune a 15-17 for similar performance. Also most people on the streets would be lucky to do 4.4-4.7 in the 18.

Not this^.

The 2018 does 0 to 60 in under 4seconds because of the A10 tranny. The fact that it also comes with a brand new engine, with dual-injection and 460hp, only helps.

Previous Mustangs don't have an A10, so you are not going to get similar performance with adding HP. Not to mention, the 2018 is mechanically better machines.

Obviously it is the new slats under the turn signals, feeding air directly to the tires
