Assuming 2015 0-60 was 4.4 with 435hp at 91 octane. The significant difference of the 2018 was 35extra hp and extra torque, and the 10speed auto? Is the main part of the performance pack adding to the 3.9 0-60 just the launch control and better gearing with the 10speed?

Cause 2015 PP gets launch control but nowhere near 3.9 right? And if we gave a 2015PP an extra 35hp it's also nowhere near 3.9 0-60.

25hp, not 35. Its 460, not 470.

It's likely due to the 10spds gearing, possible minor change in power band, supposedly better aerodynamics, and I don't think we know the weight yet. The Performance Packs springs/struts may be different. I don't think we know if they were changed for 2018.

The short answer is: Many small changes add up.

And I believe the engine got a tweak as well. In 2017 the engine rounded up to 5.0 and in 2018 the engine rounds down to 5.0.It also has the addition of direct injection to be used in conjunction with the existing port-fuel injection. :)

the A10 is programmed in drag strip mode to stay in the powerband and torque band in between all shifts which results in the sub 4 sec.

So traction limited. Even though, I'm pretty primed to buy one. With these width tires, how the heck would one move the car that quickly. My Vette with 285 tires out back does not move that well, but they are shitty run flat tires. Don't know, but guessing if I get a 2018 GT auto, it will best and beat my 2011 vette, I have a feeling the thing is just going to be sick. The vette should be quicker, but my intuition tells me it will not be, lol. Can't wait to get one.

Can anyone confirm? I wasn't aware that option was needed for the sub 4 0-60.

Gearing and traction. If you tried to give a stock eco or 2017GT the same gearing you will likely just spin your tires bald in 1st-2nd gear. 0-60 is not the end-all either, especially with a RWD car.

The official press release doesn't mention the MagneRide shocks (called adaptive dampers in the owners manual) as being required. However other Ford info seems to imply that in Drag mode they help with drag starts by allowing the nose to rise initially for improved weight transfer to the rear tires and then as speed increases to allow the nose to settle for improved stability.
