Has anyone tested on the track a 2017, or any GT350 for that matter, against a GT with a PP3 installed (GT350 Intake, intake, throttle body)?

A friend of mine just got PP3 installed in his GT, and wants to head to the track to try it out against my GT350. I'm considering doing headers and a lund tune over the winter to the 350.

Given equal drivers, there's no reason why the GT350 won't win in a dragrace. It still has more power.

If the GT is an auto and you're doing dig races maybe he can keep up for a bit, but a roll race and if you can shift then you still have him.

You mean road course by track, right? I'd say it's a driver's race, but given equal drivers the GT350 with magneride will be quicker on the road course.

Through the 1/4 mile the GT has an advantage due to gearing, IMO, but a great driver in the GT350 will still beat a average/poor driver in the GT.

I am actually very curious as to how well my GT (in its current configuration) stacks against a 350 on a road course. Right now the limiting factor (for corner speed) of my car is wheels/tires, but otherwise I think my setup puts power down better than a stock 350.
I plan on a 275-295F/305R MPSSs on Project6Rs and full GT350 brakes in the future.

Wider and lighter wheels with slicks (forgeline on hoosiers) + a gutted mustang should be able to give a GT350 a run for its money. Cheaper car is always the best route to go when pouring money into it for mods.

As far as drag racing goes, auto is your best bet. Hell, auto and tires alone can get the cars into some low 12s, 11s even i bet. Theres gotta be a s550 fast list here with 11's on slicks + auto.

Pretty simple. PP3 = 470hp vs 525hp for GT350. A real track or drag strip?

On a road course, assuming same talent level, his GT will need the same size/grip tires, downforce, and proportionally less weight to maintain a similar power:weight to have a chance.

An experienced driver in a stock GT will usually run circles around a beginner in a GT350

I'm assuming you're talking about drag racing? If so my bet would be on you. You have an advantage in the power:weight department. I don't think he'd be too far behind you though.

My money is on the GT350, if driven well, on either a drag strip or road course.

You don't have a chance with the gt350 intake manifold! You are actually better of going full boltons with the stock intake manifold. Don't let the extra hp fool you if you are shooting for a drag race. You will loose your only advantage of torque by going with the gt350 im route, unless you are road racing and staying on the upper rpm range.

Actually, the gt350 is faster than a gt with gt350 intake. We did a number of both drag and roll races, with the gt350 winning, by a small margin each time. The gt gets the jump, but the better gearing and top end of the voodoo motor proves to be faster. We even switched cars to take the driver differential out of it, and got the same results.

Who the heck is 'racing' below 3,500rpm?

>3,500rpm, the GT350 has WAY more torque than the GT.

Ohh no you got that wrong, not below 3500 rpm, lets say 6500 rpm! Compare a full bolton stock intake mani with a gt350 intake mani, didn't you guys see the dyno results? This was done way back in the day.

Stock vs stock yes, but a full bolton gt with stock intake manifold especially with 3.73 gears manual or auto, will always walk away from a stock gt350. Maybe after a half or a mile gt350 might catch up and pass it due to high end hp.
