Someone that lives near Dearborn sent me this quick cell phone clip of this 2018 Mustang GT Convertible with the new Active Exhaust doing a light acceleration on the street. Apologies for the low quality. You can hear the quicker shifts of the 10-speed and volume of the quad exhaust. Car was running manufacturer plates. At night it's hard to even tell that these are the new tail lights but if you look closely you can see the angled edges. [ame]

Sounds great. Yeah, I would think at night there will be no difference in the taillights when looking at the vehicle from behind. Wonder if the active exhaust can be retrofitted to aftermarket cat back.

Doesn't look like 2018 though. Maybe a Roush active exhaust system. The taillights are definitely not 2018.

Not a 18 decklid either. Fake news.

Manufacturer plates don't lie. Like I said in the first post, you can see the angled edges of the 2018 lights if you look closely. This was in Dearborn and the guy that sent me the video has been spotting several 18s in the past few weeks. Just thought people would enjoy the short clip.

The rear bumper, especially around the license plate looks like the '18. I agree with OP - this is the '18.

Well, it's on Rotunda, so it's very likely that it is an '18, but I have to agree that the rear looks like '15 tail lights, bumper. My guess is a '18 M1 prototype ('18 design-intent running gear with a '15 body).

That I could certainly believe.

I'm nearly certain it is. The M1s are very frequently updated to VP-level underbody hardware for powertrain calibration and a few other functions.

Mistake #1 is making any exhaust video with an automatic.

Was that at its loudest setting or only medium?
