I already have the energy suspension urethane bushing on the shifter mount, but i have been thinking about either a Barton or MGW (most likely MGW) but this is my daily driver and wondering if there is any down side to a aftermarket shifter?

anybody regret changing shifters and miss the stock shifter?

Hell no. I have the MGW. Steeda one is nice - I liked it better in a drag racing situation a little bit, oddly. Haven't tried the Barton.

Nope! MGW and don't look back at that factory contraption! I still believe the MGW is my best/favorite mod.

I'm really happy with my barton flat stick. Plus you can adjust the spring tension. There is vibrations in the shifter, like any trans mounted shifter, but you'll get used to it and not notice it. I have about 300 miles on mine now and I couldn't be happier.

I daily drive my car and wouldn't hesitate to install the MGW shifter again. Any NVH increase is extremely minor: I do notice a very slight increase in gear whine in limited specific instances (typically just backing into parking spaces for some reason), but overall feel is vastly improved. I was also slightly worried about the push down reverse but that was a non-issue within 5 minutes of driving it, and as George has stated in the past, it seems to have gotten easier after driving with it for a couple months. Now it feels similar to the OE push down lockout I had in my S2000.

If you're sick of the sloppiness of the stock shifter it's a must-do mod.

Older Barton here as well. No regrets at all. I have driven a car with the MGW and it's a good shifter also.

I love my Barton...... I think any of the shifters on the market is better than stock!

I have no regrets going with MGW. They do offer a discount. You can either PM George or place you order by phone.

My perspective is coming from multiple previous Mustangs ('92, '03, '04) all that had aftermarket shifters and so far I don't hate the stock shifter in my 2015. Could the throws be a tad shorter? Sure, but it's so easy to flick between gears as is.

I agree with you as far as the throws with the factory shifter. They really weren't that bad. My issue was the 3rd gear lockout when shifting above 6k rpm on 2 occasions.
