Gear change....no whipple flare tool required...

Hey guys, i contacted MPT about changing my rear gears and wether otlr not the whipple flare tool is required....i just picked up everything to put 373s in my car, and mpt said....all i need to do is select 373 when i load my tune, amd nothing else is required.....????

agreed..... they have no clue..... you can change it with a whipple flare tool or with a obd2 device and forscan.

tuners CAN NOT change gear info unless some how they can change the bcm settings with a tuning device... No one else has been able to yet.

Uhh, aren't all tuners "OBD2 devices"?
If Ford's Power Pack 1 tuner can do it, why can't the aftermarket figure out how to do it?

Ford's PP can't do it.

Don't believe everything you read. Changes are made through the BCM. Something they don't have the ability to do.

Interesting info guys. Tha ks for the heads up. I figured mpt didnt know what was going on...they are still living in the s197 days i guess. Now i think my resr hub bearings are going out..so thats awesome. Sure wish ford would go back to using quality parts in their cars...
