i have these, and being lowered i learned the hard way that these jacking rails reduce your ground clearance. mine got scraped to hell and i ended up having to get them refinished at a local powdercoating shop because it was getting rusty :(

Better the rails than something else, right?

How much lower is your car??

I just measured the Steeda rails that are sitting in my basement, and they are a tick under 1.25" high.

That would be 1.25" less than the floor to the bottom of the car where the rails mount. I'm not bringing the car down to the basement to check! :)

Ok if you are saying they reduce the clearance by that much then thats a significant difference. The car has 4.5" of clearance in front and 5" in rear. Now its almost 3" clearance which is very low.

The ground clearance for the Steeda rails on my stock GT350 with half-worn tires is 4and3/4 inches at the lowest spot, which is the front edge. In over 12,000 miles I have not had any issues with clearance on the street or on the track.

The Steeda rails only hang below the factory pinch weld a tiny bit. You are more likely to drag your exhaust which hang lower than the rails.
Ok, is it tiny bit or 1.25"? 1.25" is not tiny bit, thats around 30% less clearance than what is there.

We need to know the delta between floor to pinch weld and floor to rail. If the tiny bit is say 1/4", then yes thats probably not an issue unless your car is very low which mine isnt and I'll purchase one right away.

Me crazy, and I can't help myself
jacking rails have already been stated to be 1.25" thick, you know where they mount, you have a car and also a tape measure i assume, therefore you have all the information you need to answer your own question.

You are actually right, I didnt realize I could figure this out myself.

The answer is exactly 1/4". Not bad at all.

Yeah, just measured from ground to the top of the rear bolt where the jacking rail mounts and it's 6.75" on mine. So I'd have 5.5" with the rail and a bit less at the front, which is inline with what GT_Dave wrote.

I can vouch that the Steeda rails are lower than the exhaust... in the summer my R would not scrape the cats, but in the colder temps it would.

Since adding the rails, I barely scrape every time coming out of my driveway.

I love the fact I will never have to worry about a tire shop or dealer damaging my pinch welds or jacking in wrong location. I have seen many cars with severely damaged pinch welds due to carelessness. No matter the manufacturer. I installed them and glad I did!
Just make sure you tell any shops that you bring the car to that you have jacking rails. Even then, there's still a chance some idiot doesn't use them and lifts at your pinch welds...

This... my Ford service people went to use my welds and I told them there was no need... use the rails. They liked that better.

i am lowered about 1.25". after the rails went on i started hitting the top of the ramp to the underground carpark all the time now. i would love to go over it sideways but the card reader is right there. if i have a passenger it's a guaranteed fail and i have to tell them to get out or else i won't make it
