I scrape mine if my 19" wheels are on every time going into my underground garage. Precisely why I have jacking rails - those scrape, not my car... totally okay with that. They don't look beautiful anymore underneath but I do not care in the slightest - just scrapes, no dents or anything. My jack has a rubber doo-dad in it so I really don't worry about the pinch welds, personally. It is quite nice, though, to just jack the car up from the middle with jacking rails and the entire darn side comes off the ground even and stable without hearing the pinch weld get grinded on the jack, haha.

I just ordered a set from Steeda last night. I got a call this morning and FYI they are back ordered for a few days, but I guess they have a bunch being manufactured right now.

What are the bolts are that are(there purpose in the 1st place) already in the chassis before the rails actually get put on? sorry if this is a dumb question.doesn't look like the bolts are holding anything on.

Not a dumb question. I wondered the same thing! Plus, the bolts that come with the rails are significantly shorter than the factory bolts, so whatever they were intended to hold together ain't happening now.

Pretty interesting post, surprised about the issues you guys are having with the bottoming out . MY J&M's are maybe 1/8in lower then the body panel flange. I also had to shave some body sealant off to make the braces leveled. I have no issues whatsoever and wont when I drop the car an inch. Plenty of room.

Just bought a set Saturday from Summit, the advantage to living 20 mins away I guess. I didn't install them yet, hope to get to that maybe today since the temps will be in the high 40s.

Is the price of $139 for 1 side or pairs?

Also, steeda is saying there is a ultra low profile one that is 1" high now, can someone who recently purchased these check theirs to see whether it is indeed 1" or 1 1/4"?

Thanks

They come in pairs. The original size is what I have. The newer ones are lower profile. You will not get the original ones if you order now.

i was just looking at the website:

https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-mustang-ultra-lite-chassis-jacking-rails-15-16-all-555-5205.html
Steeda S550 Mustang Ultra Lite Low-Profile Chassis Jacking Rails (15-17 Coupe)
Jacking Rails feature CAD-designed, laser cut, high-strength steel brackets and stout 2" x 1-1/2" steel tubing.
i just checked my paperwork and the rails i bought may of last year have the same part number that is currently listed on the website (part no. 555-5205).

is something incorrect or out of date?

I could see them keeping the same part number if the other one is no longer in production and the new one is simply a "better" version of the old one. Keeping the same part number means they wont have to change numbers in their inventory control system, ordering system, or web ordering system all of which costs $$$$.

I can confirm the new rails are indeed only 1" not 1 1/2" like the original ones. I also installed the brace and I can say 90% of tramlining is gone and the car feels more planted. I drove the car for about 150 miles today so its not a placebo effect.
