So when I was running my 93 unleashed tune it's hovered around 14.7-15.1 now my mpt prx is 13.9-14.4 just trying to figure out what is safe on our motors neither have given me a problem just wanted some insight

Same here, the AFR stock and with the mpt was around 13.9-14.3 and with unleashed, it went up to 15.1 which is a bit high if you ask me.

From what I've learned from previous tuners: Around 14.7:1 Idle/Cruise (Stoich) and around 12.8 WOT (this applies to n/a cars running on normal 87/89/91/93 pump fuel). Unleashed's numbers look good.

Torries tune was too lean for me...car felt flat...it was way too lean at part throttle. My mpg is just as good with mpt...but the afr is way sayer at 13.9 to 14.2. The mpt tune makes waaaay more part throttle and mid range power. Running lean is not safe for the motor

For those of you who ran Torrie's tune, have you been datalogging? A base tune only goes so far. Seeing Artem's numbers and 1/4 mile times using Unleashed speaks for itself.

14.0 at WOT is very lean.

Like i said...the full throttle with torrie is good..probably goid as mpt..but...torries hardly changes any part throttle or mid range stuff...i know cause he told me lol. Mpt has been tunning 3.7s for years and know their shit. I did lots and lots of data logs with torrie. Torrie hasnt had a s550 3.7 on a dyno to really tune it out...mpt has years of tunning on dyno with the 3.7...and has a huge knoledge base on the 3.7...coming from somebody who has used torrie, bama and mpt....i would go back to any tune byt the mpt. Torrie over bama for sure though

The car is so much more responsive and fun to drive with mpt.

Did you have to datalog for MPT tunes? I love what Torrie has done but, ever since my Long tube and Catted H-pipe install, even data logging for Torrie, It just seems 'laggish' and 'sputtery'. Flat spots from 1900RPM-to-3K+

Will MPT have a tune ready to go without the need for datalogging?

Thanks!

How do you datalog?
In a nutshell: Log appropriate PIDS (Consult your tuner for which PIDS to log). Follow the directions your tuner has gave you (which usually involves idle/cruise/wot). Save the log and email it to your tuner. He will then send you a new file and you will rinse/repeat until the tune is right. The SCT X4 is pretty easy to use and forgiving.

You need to datalog. If you're at 14:1 at WOT, you're VERY lean.

This^. Also to add: If you're still getting lean numbers repeatedly with little to no change after datalogging, there very well could be something wrong on the client's end that needs fixing (*IE vac leak/ loose connections/ etc.). Any reputable tuner can give you a general idea on where to look for possible issues from datalogging.
