Why ? it's fine the way it is on the track or street.
Driving high h.p. cars for so long I would get bored with it.

My 14 gt500 was 60 in first gear @ 3.5. Didn't have to shift. The power was just a quick couple of seconds on the street and your done. I never though I'd say this but too much hp can be boring also. Bragging rights now belongs to the demon.

I really think you should get into a Miata or something to test drive. You'd be surprised. Driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car slow.

Agreed.

When I had my GT500 (mild at ~540 WHP) initially I thought it was the greatest thing ever. But I quickly grew tired of having to pedal it all the time to not destroy it and me both on the street. If I was heavy into drag racing one would be the ticket, otherwise it's just dick swinging.

IMO, about 500 HP at the crank is the sweet spot, combined with killer handling.

One of the big factors in a fun track car is the sound. The small block chevy V/8 has the sound + rev match for us big feet people 6'5". Don't get me wrong the GT 350 sounds good up in the 5000+ rpm range. The Miata can't Match that sound. The Jaguar V/6 F type has a great sound for a non V/8 but that's about it. NO SOUND no soup for you ! It's nice to be on a forum with people with an open mind.

Really like the wide body look and it's functional. MSSP 335's on the back. 285's on the front.

True, sounds does play a huge role. However, eventually you get "used" to the sound. Plus, if you only get to hear redline legally once during a WOT pull what's the point?

Rowing the gears and constantly staying full throttle however, is the spirit of driving.

Camera is too far back but I'll forgive that as the sound turned out good.

Wow a 360 @ the end , that's what happens when you don't look far enough down the road. ....reminds me of Danny Sullivan spin and win @ the Indy. Try this video ...good sounds @ the 3:34 mark. [ame]
This is the same track that Ford used to let us drive the 350. They did a short version and told us to stay in 3rd gear for the entire time. No way ....I used 2nd gear serveral times and was told stop doing that. Fun time but could have been even better to use the whole track. This track is a new addition to the area and competes with Road Atlanta which is considered a first rate track. All the greats have raced there. When Cadillac had their drive event @ Road Atlanta they let some us hit 140mph on the back straight in the CTS-V.

Glad I took advantage of those Hugh discounts last month $11,500 off MSRP on a grand sport. They are gone this month. That's $11,500 on a msrp of $69350. Not $11,500 on $95000

Corvettes will always be deep discounted. Les Stanford sent me a flyer last month with discounts better than $11K. Just because some discounts are gone, wait a few months, they'll be back again.
