I have contacted CalMac Ferries re a Group Booking for the Ferry from Isle of Skye back to Mainland (Armadale to Mallaig), but all bookings need to be done seperately:doh:

So, we have decided to do the 16.35 crossing on the Saturday afternoon (its only a 25 min crossing), arriving in Mallaig at 17.00 - this is 30 mins from Glenfinnan.

Can everyone please remember to book their Ferry crossing as soon as possible, so they don't have to drive 'the long way round' :frusty:

Booked the Royal at Dunkeld for the Thursday night, unfortunately Jacqui will have to go to work on Friday. Provided the weather isn't rotten I'll join you for the drive up to Elgin/Inverness then head home

Hello old friends,

This cannot be missed. I've got an apartment in Norwich for the next 6 months for work so will be travelling up from there. Will join the southerners wherever is best for the cruise back up to Gods country :-).. Polly will join in Dunkeld.
Booked the ferry as per Big Bear instructions now away to book hotels. This is going to be EPIC... again. Some new roads to enjoy also. Done the road from Mallaig to Fort William (after some epic fish and chips) last week and it's like something out of a computer game, big hairpins with waterfalls at the side and all sorts, passed the Jacobite (harry potter apparently) steam train on route. Was driving Polly's bug and still enjoyed it... Going to be awesome.

Won't make this one either due to work.

MoZ is right about Mallaig to Fort William road, sweeping bends, wide in places, no passing places, after leaving Mallaig though, the first bit is not as exciting, so pull off onto the old road to Arisaig, we could get a group shot on the straight at Traigh beach, I urge you to Google image Traigh beach

What's the deal with the boat? One-way then we drive the long way back?

We travel over the bridge at kyle of lochalsh onto Skye & then take the ferry 1 way back to the mainland at Mallaig late afternoon.
