Looks great Boomba!
If it's anything like the steeda, it's very time consuming but not exactly difficult. There's no way to do the entire installation from just inside the car unless they're hacking up the factory shifter which I sincerely doubt. The only way to get the factory shifter out of the base housing is through the bottom.

Yeah, I have heard that. Probably worth it though. :)

will this shifter solve some of the grinding some of us are experiencing once in a while with the stock shifter?

I'm definitely interested in this. How much more effort is required to shift gears with 1" of leverage lost? Is it possible to retain the factory knob?

Shifting gears actually feels more natural. I got some seat time in the car yesterday and I like it much more than factory. Since there's such a long center console you tend to want to rest your arm on it. With the stock shifter you find yourself reaching up more to shift, almost at a weird angle. With our shifter it doesn't put the same strange angle on your arm. I would say the overall shifting experience is still pretty smooth.

With this shifter you will be able to retain the stock knob.

Awesome! If the price is right I'll definitely be in for one!
