How does a dealership give $6,000 off MSRP when the mark-up over invoice is only about $2,500 ~ $3,000 from my recent dealings with a local dealer.
Dunno... maybe your dealer isn't being 100% honest with you or their overhead costs are significantly higher. I'm not complaining. I have the price in writing that clearly states it includes destination, tax, tags, title, and doc fees.

When you remove trade-ins and come with cash, they tend to be more likely to make a deal if they can even make $100... because there are always other incentives: future service work, repeat business, referrals, etc. Never mind if they think you'll buy their undercoating and fabric protection. A customer is worth far more than a single sale (usually.) And I've purchased several cars here. Not all were such a bargain. It also helps to live in an area where the next Ford dealer (or 5) aren't more than 15-20 miles away.

My first mustang ever, loving this car so far...
2015 GT 5.0 premium PP, Nav, reverse sensing
$40,710 msrp
$36,199 (includes $500 ford customer cash)
TTL is not factored into that $
It was a car off the lot, but price shopped online comparable cars through other dealers. Also had X plan as an option, but the advertised prices from most dealers here already beat that.

The dealer I'm dealing with showed me the MSRP vs invoice pricing on the car I want to order, but I did have a trade-in that they gave a low-ball value on. I suspect they want to steal away my trade-in and there is lots more room in their price even thought they say it's $100 over "invoice". Maybe time to talk to other Ford dealers in my area, which there are many.

Need some advice. Top is the one I've ordered. Came out to $40,000 otd after 500 down/ 500 military rebate.

Bottom is at a local dealer. They offered 42,700 out the door. I told them 42,000 I'll come pick it up now.

Does anyone know if I can get my $500 deposit back? Also the one that's at a local dealer was built back in October 2014 and had been sitting outside all winter. What should I do?

I would take the one already built, it has the 50th appearance pkg, and reverse park assist.

Did you look into XPlan?

I use USAA True Car. The price they gave me beat the true car price with the taxes and all the fees they'd add on.

Well they agreed to 42,000 for the one they have here. I'm pretty happy with the deal considering the other was 40,500 before the deposit

If you got it out the door including tt&it then you got a good deal. Congrats! What color?
Nevermind I read it on the window sticker. The PP wheels and Ruby Red are a great combination.

I got a Ruby Red GT, sticker was 40,400, I got 4,200 off sticker plus dealer fees and taxes my total price was around 37,000. I had 7000 equity in trade, put down a sizable down payment and have a really easy monthly payment!

Picked my order up last Friday. Sticker was $37,870 and my price paid was $33,249 ($4,621 off). This included their document/title fee of $299 and two discounts: $500 dream cash and $750 retail cash offer. I am THRILLED with the price.

I ordered my 2015 through Overseas Military Sales in the Middle East. I paid 31,200 out-the-door for a base 2015 Magnetic automatic with 3:55's, enhanced security package, 18" Foundry Black Painted wheels and the spare tire. I won't pick it up until I arrive in Georgia in mid-August and it hasn't been assigned a VIN/build date yet. I have seen several base 15's for sale in Virginia for 28,700 on Autotrader...the link was posted in another Mustang Forum (Corral I think). The $28,700 is the lowest sticker price I have seen for a new 2015 base GT anywhere.

I have been looking for base GT's on autotrader and have seen base GT's as low as $27,500. The catch, that they don't mention, is that most of those low prices are for A plan pricing with incentives not available to everyone.

One dealer has a base GT for $28,500 but they quoted me the same car for $30,200 + taxes/freight/fees = $32,000 after rebates. I asked him where he came up with the $1700+ phantom cost addition and he said that was for A plan and rebates.
