Typical oil consumption

So I have a 2016 GT. I've needed to add a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Is this typical consumption? I know when I used that much on a 370z they did a short block replacement. Any thought on if this is high or within specs before I start to work it with my service advisor?

you shouldnt have to add oil until an oil change.. get it checked.

1 quart per 2000 miles is the spec.

I've owned two Coyote cars and they used no oil between 8000
mile oil changes. Get it checked by the Dealer.

My dipstick shows right at the top after 3k miles and adding exclactly 8 quarts when it was changed. I have had maybe 2 ounces of oil in my seperator last I checked.

32 valve motor surely must use a little oil over time..lots of valves for the oil to seep by.
op that is a little too much for comfort tough..get it checked

make sure youre not checking your oil after a change before startup. The oil will flow into the filter which can hold some and make it read low nexttime you check. I always pre-fill the filter when changing but also fire it and then let it sit and re-recheck the level before final top off.

A quart every 1,000 is awfully high. How hard are you on the poor thing?

I've got 40-year-old, High mileage pushrod V8's that don't use that much!

Mine went though a quart during break-in, but after being topped up I haven't had to touch it. However I'm relatively easy on mine and it rarely sees the high side of 5 grand.

I broke in my 2016 only 600 miles before changing to Pennzoil "made from natural gas" full synthetic 6 qts 5w 20w and 2 qt. 5w 30w as the store ran out of 5w 20w. I check my dipstick once a week and I am about ready to change again in another 500-600 miles with no oil burning.

For the first few months mine also burnt about 1 at per 1000 miles, but I think it's slowed down lately. I definitely didn't pre-fill my oil filters so that accounts for some of it.
