Got a call from Shannon's today re my quote request
$879 p/a with a $700 excess
Agreed value at $70k
1 year new for old
Windscreen and glass cover
Hire car 14 days which I don't really need but it's included
Mods and extras
Choice of repairer
Lifetime guarantee on repairs
Also the guy I spoke to offered to sharpen the pencil by about 10% if I take the policy
$791 sounds good to me
I was going to use SGIO but I think I'll be going with Shannon's

If possible are people able to post their approximate age and general location when they post a quote? Might just help people get an idea of what they should push for in their situation. Obviously every case is different but the basics apply. Unfortunately living in Darwin and being just under 30 (even though I've never had an accident), means far higher premiums. Ridiculous how we get screwed up here for all kinds of insurance, even if you're older.

No probs
I'm 50, clean driving record , from Perth.
Having you car garaged is a big help and mine is not a daily driver
I would certainly be comparing as many as I could then play them off against each other. I spent the last Sunday getting and comparing quotes:frusty::frusty:
Just a little side note I was talking to mate who was in Darwin last week and he saw 5 mustangs in a day
Seems there's a few getting around up there too and they don't mind a bit of a race. 2 of them were having a run:eyebulge:

Thats pretty good - I'm with coles for 530.00 at the moment - would prefer Shannons tho. If they raise it on renewal will do that. Shannons must have reduced their quotes to compete or you are in a good area.

Young driver's insurance for the Ecoboost

Any experience with young driver's insurance for the Ecoboost? Best I've found so far is $250 per month with CGU and then comes Elders with $311 but a huge excess of $1500 + $400 for being under 25yo.

I used to be with Shannons for all my 3 cars and they got very greedy, so i took them all out and went with Famous and much more for less covered. Give it a try ;)

2 companies wouldn't insure me beacause under 30. Shannons came up very expensive, Coles came up > $8,000 (LOL). The best deal I could find for under 30 was with RYNO - ~$1,700 premium, $500 excess (set, can't change), 2 or 3 years replacement or agreed value for $63k, choice of my own repairer. Hope this helps!

Can't work it out - Pretty much the same details but quoted $1,132 pa without glass cover with Shannons and market value of $57,990 - $6K short

Gone with Real Ins fr $750 - $64,500 value, glass cover, unlim klm, 2 year replacement, $800 excess.

See how we go.

Cheers

I am 46yrs old... good driving history...:headbang:

Shannons $862 with $650 excess
Real Insurance $857 with $700 excess

both include no excess Windscreen, car value $64000.

I have two cars already with Shannons... so probably stay with them.

Also got a competitive quote through Real Insurance.

Had not heard of them until now - anyone got any positive or negative feedback on them?

When I got a quote from Real Insurance they said they wouldn't cover any modifications so that killed it for me.

Was paying $950+ via Youi.
Had a long chat with them and got the premium down to $650!
It helps when you only drive 2200km a year, $1000 excess with Rating 1...
