They have all of that in a FWD/CVT 4cyl configuration they share with CR-V and other products. I believe I've made this point very well if you care to scroll up and take another look. It's pretty obvious what you are giving up.

Ford didn't take bailout money in the Great Recession where GM and Daimler-Chrysler/FCA (also.. BMW lol South Carolina plant) did. So, about that financial health... they made $1.6B USD in the first quarter. That's profit, not deficit... and that is healthy.

Denying bailout money nearly a decade ago was done on principle and not the necessity.

GM 1Q17 Profits were 2.6B up 33.5%
F 1Q17 Profits were 1.6B down 35%
FCAU 1Q17 Profits were 0.7B up 34%

Stock price and many other financial indicators are what a majority of investors use to determine the companies ability to compete. If over such a long period Fords stock hasn't even come close to the performance of its competitors it shows a lack of confidence by its investors in the direction of the company.
