hey guys what is the max tire size I can run on the stock 19x9 PP front wheels. I just picked up 4 275/40/19 PSS tires wondering if I can squeeze those onto the front rims with no issues

Suggested max tire size for a 9 inch wide wheel is 265. You probably can get away with 275 though.. I know a lot of people put 285s on the rear 9.5 wheels.

Yes. 275 is the recomended max tire width for most tires with a 9" wheel.

A lot of the FS guys are running 285.

I was thinking of doing the same, run same size tires on all four. If going this route, would it be possible to rotate the wheels all around to extend the life of the tires? Would running 5mm spacers up front for when the 9.5 wheels are installed be the only mod I would need to do?

worst case just take the tires off the fronts and swap them onto the back rims then you wont need spacers at all :)

What's the best and max size I can go on the back of the PP wheels? I think 295 would work but could I go with a 305? The car is still at stock height if that matters.

It's the best option short of buying at least two new wheels.

Your car's handling balance would probably change (get a bit 'looser') when you swap the narrower front wheel sets to the back and the wider rear wheel sets to the front even though the tires were all the same size.

285 is the recomended max for 9.5". I wouldn't worry much about pushing it to 295, but 305 is really pushing it.

Unless the mfr has made some change in the tread compounding for tires wider than 285/xx, the amount of grip you're adding by going from 285/xx to 305/xx is down around the 1% - 2% range. This relation between tire size and grip is from a real OE-level automotive engineer.

Short of top-level autocrossing, time trialing in contention for tire contingencies, and W2W racing, most of us are probably going to be better off with slightly better steering response and precision on the way up to 98% - 99% of the wider tire's ultimate capability. Certainly in any street driving.
