I've been noticing it's taking longer for my car to start initially. Tonight I went to move my car so my wife could drive my truck and as I suspected it just kept turning over and over and over and never would start...I pushed the button and stopped the sequence, then pushed the button to start it again and it fired right up. It's around 65* outside and I haven't drove the car in 4-5 days. Was the e85 just cold natured or what's going on? I don't like it whatever it is. Anybody else having this problem? Thanks guys!

Flex fuel tune? Some have reported issues such as cold starts taking longer with a Flex-fuel tune. Have you checked your battery?

That's the nature of running e85, especially when you don't drive it every day. Now that I have a return system (sai li) that dead heads at the rail, I get nasty vapor lock when it sits.

Yes flex fuel tune. And I've been running e85 exclusively since I had the work done. Brian at finishline told me I should switch to 93 when it gets colder, that was a few months ago, maybe this is one reason why?

Should I change to the e85 tune over the flex? I was running the e85 tune solely before I had to switch to the flex tune. I was pretty much on empty and had to stop and put a few bucks of 93 in the car to get me to the e85 station and I never swapped the tune back over

E85 has a tendency to produce a slow start. The 15% gasoline in the mixture is actually there to help get engines started because ethanol is such a slow burning fuel in itself.

If you have any doubt of having 93 octane in the tank, it's a good practice not to run a E85 tune. You wont "hurt" the motor if you keep your foot out of it, but your fuel trims get wonky and will take awhile to get them relearned.

I have a Flex Fuel tune from Rob Shoemaker and I've been running E85 exclusively for several months and mine slow starts when it is cold. I work from home and don't drive mine everyday and when it cold starts it turns over a few times before it fires off. Warm start is fine.

One of the reasons I'm not interested in running E85, IMO the little go you get would only be worth it at the track or street racing a camaro!:ford:

I have a flex fuel tune. On e85 rpms will drop so low it will stall out when "cold" starting.
