2017 Mustang GT 7200 miles, check engine light came on at 4200 or so, is was down 3 quarts of oil, added that, fixed the problem. Oil change at 6300 or so, then at 7100 and change, light came on again, oil was low, added 2 quarts on Tuesday, light came back on yesterday.

Really effin frustrated, either this thing is burning oil really bad, or there is a leak somewhere that isn’t leaving any trace of oil, nothing on my driveway, no remnants anywhere on my car.

Taking it in to Ford tomorrow, hope they figure it out quick!

wow..... one thing you might check are the codes..... my CEL came on and it was a P0300 and a P0308..Turned out i had a cracked intake manifold.

As far as the oil... Ive had ZERO oil issues. I beat on my 2017 hard and its always on the same mark every time i check it.

Pretty sure it’s not a cracked IM, the light first came on when I had my stock IM, then a week later I had the GT350 IM installed, not sure what the deal is.

I don’t know what codes it’s throwing, do I need a tuner for that? I have one, but it’s not specifically for my car, just bought an SCT so tuner can dyno tune.

Use the SCT device you have to go plug it into the OBD2 port then you have to look for Reed DTC code any codes that gives you usually starts with a P

I didn’t get a tune recently, can I use the SCT to read the codes, even if the SCT is from another car? I bought it from a member on this forum. If I can use it, I’ll go check right now.

P2011 - Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Circuit Open (Bank 2)
Description: This DTC sets when an open circuit is detected in the IMRC2A circuit.
Possible Causes:
IMRC2A circuit open
Diagnostic Aids: The IMRC1 and IMRC2 sensor values should change when the IMRC is commanded open or closed.

If you just recently installed the GT350 manifold check to make sure your connections are good. If they are good it could be a possibility that one of the imrc actuators is damaged. I remember reading on a form before where somebody installed headers and actually damaged the actuator on his manifold.

Did you retune after your IM install?

Whenever you get a check engine light, step #1 is always to read the codes. Don't do anything else to the car before then. Without that you cannot verify what the problem really is nor would you be able to verify if you've fixed the actual problem. Simply because the light goes off does not mean the problem is gone.
