FWIW, I updated the GT350 from 2.0 to 2.3 this morning on the drive in to work. Everything seemed to go as described on the Ford Owner website, so I'm happy so far.

from a previous post you cannot go from 3.0 to 2.3, you have to go 3.0 to 2.2 to 2.3
Are there instructions for doing this? Where can I find 2.2? I don't want to dig through the 255 pages of this thread. Thanks, and sorry for the trouble.

CarPlay is indeed very nice. Apple Maps is okay, and is working pretty well for me, but it's not as good as GM.

I'm surprised to hear that there is a big difference between CP and AA. I'd thought they would be roughly equivalent.
not sure if it was my phone, but AA was really buggy, like if I received a text while listening to music, it would knock the volume down to the level of alerts, only way to reverse it was a restart of the phone, so annoying! sending and receiving text on Car Play is cleaner and smoother as well, I'm hoping Apple allows the use of Waze soon........

I tried to give Apple maps multiple chances but everytime I use it I either end up taking the long route or using off ramps for no reason. My favorites are the illegal u turns when I am next to a concrete barrier that has been in the same spot for 5 years.

Has anyone successfully downgraded from ver3 to ver2.3?

I tried last night and it 'said' it upgraded but after restarting, it was still at ver3.

I downloaded 2.3 directly from the link on the first page for MY16.
theres a tricky way of downgrading 3.0 to 2.3, we have few engineers who know how but its definitely not "straight-forward" process

Someone sent me a PM with a link to this thread with explicit instructions on downgrading from 3.0 to 2.2.

I'm considering trying it. My only concern is that it is for 2016 MY cars and my Fusion is a 2017.

Colleton - you only need to go through this convoluted process if Gracenote has been messed up by your update to Sync3 3.0.

If not, you can just download the official 2.2 from the link in that post (yes - the post is about the F150 - but the link works with all 2017 model year cars). Then just extract to a USB stick, and do an "update" as normal. You will end up with the official 2.2. No complicated steps needed.

Okay, I'll give that a try. AFAIK, Gracenote is not messed up, I'm just getting the "connect to complete" popup every time I start the car.

Thanks!

Edit #1: Just tried Adrian's suggestion repeatedly, but it kept erroring out half way through with a MEM03 error after prompting for a wifi connect (which was already present.) I think I'll try the more complex procedure from the link above and see if that makes a difference.

Edit #2: Success!!! After following the more complex procedure I'm back to v2.2 in the Fusion. Will do the v2.3 update on the way to work in the morning.

FWIW, I think Adrian's suggestion would have worked had I been smart enough to say no to the "connect to complete" messages that kept popping up. I didn't know if they were part of the 2.2 install or the 3.0 install, so I said yes and the install would promptly error out. Well, I did learn the lesson and said no when the prompts popped up during the second procedure.

Thanks to everyone for their help with this. Much appreciated.

After I updated to 2.3 I had the same Sirius update message and progress bar.
SiriusXM updated today, and jeff on 2.3 there is NO bar..just says "Sirius Updating..." where the channel number is,.. again thats a 3.0 thing

Successfully updated to the official v2.3 release during my morning commute. Everything is working perfectly, and I am glad to be rid of that WiFi prompt.

Thanks again for the help everyone!

100% I had the pop-up with a progress bar, not just a message in the top bar. I'd take a picture, but mines not updated since.

can you please define what you mean by gracenotes is messed up? mine currently works fine on 3.0 but it is version GL, do you think i can go from 3.0 to 2.2 without doing the song and dance?
