Does everyone just run a BAP right away regardless of pulley size? Or are most guys who run the 3.75" just running factory pump, no BAP?

I have longer term plans for my setup to be e85 and lots of boost, but wanted to get the car dialed in and get used to the new power in phases. So I am going to run my ID1300 injectors on the factory pump, prob a 3.625 or 3.75 pulley.

I remember Dustin Whipple saying with the stock injectors and pump you will get around 90% duty cycle just under 700 whp. Not sure what others are getting away with the stock pump, but I would bet with capable injectors the stock pump could support over 700.

3.625 pulley. Just under 700RWHP, and no BAP.

We made 723 rwhp 560 ft-lbs on 93 octane using the stock stage 2 whipple tune with 3.75 pulley, 72# injectors, and stock pump (no BAP). This was on a Dynapack, so I'm not sure if they read higher due to no chance of tire slippage. Revved to 7300 RPM as it was prior to my ATI/OPG/CS install.

it's never a bad idea to have more fuel

This I know all too well.

I guess I should have stated it more clearly, I already have sitting in my garage a Fore triple pump, 10an and 8an return, fittings, regulator, etc etc.

But that is a HUGE step from a stock pump, and I was thinking to install the Whipple, not waste money on a BAP, then in 3-4mos once I go e85 I will install the Fore setup.

the fore system will work fine on pump as well.

if it was me, i'd install everything together, get it tuned on pump on the return system, then once you add e85, the retuning process will be much easier.

Great advice, thanks. Think for now I should plug off one of the three pumps when running pump? Worried about out flowing the return line and getting pressure spikes or over heating the pump gas.

we can do an fc3 controller with a hobbs witch, that will run 1 pump all the time, and kick the other 2 under boost

That's what I have, but even under boost with 3 450 walbros running and the amount that will need to be returned concerns me. Maybe I am being too concerned.

i wouldn't worry about it, you'll primarily be running one pump

How has the car treated you so far at that power on pump gas with no BAP? Any octane booster?
