They can be a bit harsh, did you use the supplied crossover/cap that came with it?
That usually calms it down.
Still too much, then use a Focal tweeter crossover VT-XO.
I just got the crossovers. Where did you put them as they are a little bigger than I expected ?
Thanks

You can take them apart, just peel the plastic layers and you end up with a very small piece.

Yep. That was too easy. So you removed the crossovers that came with the tweeters correct ? I only see 2 wires on this so do they wire into the circuit in parallel or series ?

Yes removed the crossover that came with it and wired it though the positive wire.

Correct, but theoretically should work either way.

Ok, I'm about to take this one step beyond.
Going to add an external amplifier to the stock housed upgraded sub.
100x2 RF amp to power the RF dual voice coil in the stock housing.
I'm going for easy and inexpensive, but a bit more involved.
Power wire to the battery, RCA's from the rear speakers, and a bass control knob on the dash.
Will post pics and instructions this week.
I'm looking at $300 max.

And it's because I'm bored.......

Looking forward to this.
Question, I wanna hook up the factory shaker sub and amp to try it out. I already have a LOC. Can I just cut off the sub end of the RCAs and solder the wires to the two input wires at the plug going to the stock amp? This would give me the needed low level inputs, correct?

For all of you that are tapping into your rear speakers for the signal to the sub amp do you have any issues when you fade to the front? I am not a big user of the rear speakers so I tapped off of the front. No fading issues that way.

Don't use fade, so not sure.

I think this has been tried and failed. The sub inputs are not traditional low level signals.

Interestingly, the amp I got has signal sensing turn on and high level rca inputs. Makes life really easy.
And I'm tapping off the rears, I never fade.

Ah man, I was under the assumption I could use the inputs from my LOC. Since I have a base model, where exactly would I get the needed low level inputs?

Also, my LOC has a remote mounted level control. Any way I could incorporate something like that, so I can adjust more or less bass from the driver seat?
