This is mine. At about 700 miles I took a look at the dipstick and observed the oil line was about at 1/3 from the bottom of the hash marks. Today at 1050 miles, it was just below\right at the bottom hole on the dipstick. Went to Ford, got 1 qt. of oil and added it. Now the oil is dead even with the top of the hash marks. So I am burning about 1/2 quart per 500 miles.

Check your oil boys and girls.

Not our dipstick but a visual representation of about where 1/3 was at 700 miles.

I burn in between a 1/2 quart to a full quart every 1000 miles depending on how hard I drive it

I burned that in the first 1500 miles, has since stopped, burns none now. My passenger side oil catch can does get filled often though.

After 5000 miles I'm burning at the rate of 1/2 qt. per 550 miles, but it's hard to read the dipstick, so I've estimated usage at 1qt. per 1000-1200 miles. It seems to be using less oil than when new. Intalling a catch can passenger side is a must.

Mine goes from the top of the hatch marks to the bottom of the hatch marks in about 5500 miles.
About 2oz ends up in the catch can every 2500 miles.

Ford knows these cars consume oil, just ask the dealer. They'll tell you what rate is acceptable. I'm working on getting drunk and don't re.... What were we talking about?

They all burn oil, the harder you drive it the more it burns.

My Porsche 911 burns oil - hard driving it can go through a quart in about 1,200 miles. Porsche put out that up to 1 quart every 600 miles is acceptable.

I check dipstick regularly and it doesn't appear to burn any oil at all it's always in the same spot I read the owner's manual and it says never to add oil if it's in between the hash marks. I use Amsoil Signature Series and I have all the UPR valve train goodies like the clean side separator catch can next to radiator and crankcase release breather whatever they call it LOL

24000 miles on her now first two oil changes was stock synthetic blend and after that I switch to full synthetic Amsoil ever since love it it also quieted down my valve train

Currently I'm at about 3/4 quart every 2000 miles.

I used about 1 quart over the last 1100 miles and that included 9 ~25 minute track session where I was regularly at redline. Seems about normal. I have 1850 on the odometers and did an oil change at 720 miles.

There are clearly some cars that are using too much, likely due to cylinder scoring. I also question the comments about cars using none at all; you guys gotta drive it harder!

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by cilinder scoring?

I'm curious about why some vodoo engines are oil thirsty when others are not.

Mine is using about your rate of 1qt per 1000-1200 miles, and I drive it hard to redline, whenever I can.
