finally put black locking gorilla lugs on.. the black on black makes a huge aesthetic difference. Car looks super sinister now -- pics when I wash it maybe

What are your impressions, was everything plug and play?part#s?
Not quite plug and play, for the rears at least. But the sound quality is light years better. Those ford speakers I pulled out were absolute garbage. Looked like base radio speakers from a 1988, cavalier.

Very nice - I'd like to do this - got part numbers?

Are these the upper line kicker components or?
Kicker 41KSC654 6.5 inch Coaxial 2-Way Speakers - X'2 Pairs

Kicker KST2004 KST200 .75" Tweeters - 1 pair

Kicker 44KSC3504 3.5 Inch Speakers - X's 2 Pairs (You will only use 3 of these but no one sells them in singles)

Use a pre loaded sub box of your choosing (I stuck with Kicker) and an amp. For the amp I used a:
Kicker 12CX600.1

The box isn't mounted (although I may do a strip of velcro to keep it from sliding around. I don't really want to drill mounting holes.

All in, I spent about $550. That includes the amp wiring kit and the line level converter to pull amp signal from the rear speakers. Does not include the sub box, as I already had that sitting around to put in my 4Runner. However Toyota actually put a nice radio in there so it wasn't needed. Go figure...

Thanks a ton - likely my Fall upgrade
Is your sub picking up any of the factory engine noise stuff that's pumped in?

Did you have to remove door panels for this or do the grilles pop off and allow you to change them out?

Yeah, you have to remove the door panels. And the rear deck, and the center grille. To get the center grille off, you have to remove the dash trim. (the brushed metal looking part that encompasses the center AC vents.

Finally was able to get to my video footage from my days at Laguna Seca and Sonoma! Here is nice sample of some glorious Voodoo on this fine Friday afternoon!

Just an FYI for anyone considering the speaker upgrade...

Also, PROTIP:
When you install the speaker in the door, place a piece of duct tape as shown. New speakers pound harder than the stock ones. If left to vibrate in the relatively sealed environment of the door, it will sound like a blown speaker. This of course depends on your choice of music.

Jesus it's a dream of mine to take my R on Leguna Seca, nice footage!! I can only imagine what it's like taking the corkscrew from behind the wheel of a GT350/GT350R!
