I am new to Mustang. Went with the Gt 350 because I liked the design and for the price did everything as good or better than the M3's I had in the past. I am not interested in a muscle car, and the 350 is an amazing sports/GT car.

I know 0-60 times are great for bragging rights, but clearly that is not the 350 mission. I'm glad the new GT will give Chevy a run, but it will not be the track car the Shelby is. I have driven my daughters 2017 GT and not in the same universe with the 350. I'm sure the new GT will be better with the magna ride etc, but it will not be a 350. If there were no 350 I would be in an M4 or 911

Well now that 18 GT pricing has been released the GT isn't that great of a value after all. It's even more expensive than a Camaro. Not a fan of the GT350 base pricing going up $1k when nothing about the car has changed other than colors.

Silver lining...t may end up helping the values of the 15-17's.

Maybe like when Dodge did that with the second year Hellcats. The again you at least got some more base features.

Yes that was the Mustang's advantage in the market place up until now but Chevy has caught up with the discounts and rebates and I think a '17 SS and '17 GT are comparable price wise today in summer 2017. But still not really performance wise. '18 mustang should up the performance gain and after the initial demand prices will settle again with rebates/discounts... Isn't chevy planning another refresh soon

The 2018 MY does not give me the warm and fuzzies just from looking at it.
It makes me want to be sick every time I look at that dowdy dopey front end. I just look at it and think it's saying "durpa dur!"

However I can't deny that the performance improvements should be very interesting and intriguing.

The '17 base car is exactly a '16 Track Pack car. A '16 Track Pack was 56,495. A base '17 was 54,845. So a base '18 for 55,845 is just what it is.

Was there ever a reason given for Ford not giving the 18 GT350 any of the 2018 updates? It indeed does seem like they intended to have another model ready but didn't, so just continued the GT350 another year.

I think it would have made less sense to give the 350 any of the updates. After all, there has been "3" model years so far, and to have some random changes like headlights and a transmission change for only one MY would seem completely out of place IMO.

I imagine it came down more to a business decision. The GT350 is still selling very well and demand is still there for the car. They carry the model over while introducing the new GT. Should bolster GT sales with a new model, the GT350 will still sell well, and then for 2019, after the initial excitement of the 2018 GT refresh begins to wane, they reveal the GT500 to boost excitement again.

I'll save the $20k and get a '18 GTPP with magneride
Anddd have a slower, less unique car that doesn't look as good. Sooo yeah it's cheaper, because it isn't as good. Not even close to the same level. :headbonk::crazy:
