Was driving through a park today when a huge tree branch fell on the roof. I'm not hurt, the roof caved in a lot but stopped just before my head. Thanks to Ford for building a strong roof on these cars. Scary but could have been much worse. So far the body shop people are saying it probably won't be totaled. I dunno. Just makes me sick to my stomach. This is the second time this car was hit hard. Last time was almost exactly a year ago when a motorcyclist took out the whole driver's side. Got diminished value with the last accident so maybe that will take the value down and make it an easier total. If they fix it again I'll be seeking DV this time too. What do you guys think?

Damn man you are having terrible luck with this mustang! I cant imagine they would drop that much on it after it was just repaired from the Bike accident. As far as value i would DEFINITELY try to fight for DV. After two major "accidents"...many will want to stay away from it sadly when it's time to sell it. I know I wouldn't personally buy a nice if it was in two major accidents. Even if the work done to it was perfect

I think you're lucky as hell to be alive and well.

And, yeah, youd'a been dead in a convertible.

With the c pillar that crushed, I would argue it's compromised structural integrity to get it totaled.

That sucks Matt. I would definitely seek DV again if car is not deemed a total loss.
I hope you have a good long term tester being dropped off soon!

Tree limb strikes or more common than you think, and you're damn lucky it didn't drop a fraction of a second sooner. When I was in college one of the girls in my study group was killed when a tree limb landed on the windshield of her MR2 and nearly flattened the Apillar back to the B pillar.

That car looks totaled. IMO.

That's totaled. Body and structural work to repair that would be like $20K.

This is a sign. Get rid of the Mustang and get your WRX buddy.

I'm glad you're okay. The car can be replaced, you can't.

Do you have a picture of the limb by chance? It must have been King Kong to do that much damage. Sheesh.

Glad you are OK. Car can be replaced. Hopefully your insurance company puts your pony out of her misery.

Oh Matt! I'm gutted for you. It goes without saying I know how much you love this car.....but I can only imagine how you feel :(

I'm glad you're safe though, that's the main thing.

Good luck in getting if fixed or replaced.
