Yes and no.. the owner of my dealer talked to the regional office and they stated that 0 2018 R's will be built during 2017 that all R's would be built starting next late winter/spring. So apparently there will be some, how many? Who knows.

I think the numbers are unconfirmed but availability appears to be both the GT350 and GT350R according to ford media release found here;

My dealer (Canadian) has been allocated an R for the 2018 MY which I have scooped up. I am at the dealership on Thursday and will post what ever confirmation documentation they have. BTW anyone interested in a 2017 GT350R there are 3 of them sitting on the showroom floor at Dixie Ford in Mississauga Ontario.

The amount if 350's Canada gets still baffles me. There was one dealer up there that had 7 350's all sitting at sticker.

There are no less than 25 2017 GT350's sitting on Greater Toronto Area (GTA) lots for MSRP or less and I have found 4 GT350R's (unsure of selling price on these) all by just doing a quick internet search.

SMH... sucks!!!

I guess they just don't have the demand as in the states.

If R production isn't going to start until late winter, early spring, isn't that getting close to GT500 time?

Well, order banks are supposed to open tomorrow I guess.....still nothing heard from my dealer. Not good news!...

my guy tried to put my order in unsuccessfully..he contacted his regional rep and was told ordering for the 18s got pushed back to july, which matches up with the screenshot donkey posted. i wouldnt get in a hurry, looks like a late production start. im hoping to have my car in december or january. my bet is a short run of the 350s for 18

Yea. I'll wait. What's another month? I'm curious as to whether my dealer will be able to get an R. Also colors. If the orange is without stripes only, that will push me to the race red. Just don't understand why you wouldn't be able to get racing strips on a racing car...???...weight reduction I guess.

The reason on the current cars was the outline being red clashes terribly with certain colors. As do the calipers with the comp orange which is why it wasn't available on the '16 R.. and you can't get stripes on a red R but you can on a non-R.

There are ~30 SVT Ford dealerships in Canada and they are the only Ford dealerships that can sell the GT350/GT350R's in Canada.

Over the last couple of years each SVT dealership typically gets 2 R models for each MY with the high selling dealerships getting as many as 3 R's.

For each R model that is allocated each SVT dealership can order up to 15 regular GT350's. With many regular GT350's still sitting on dealership lots at ~$5000 to $6500 below MSRP you can expect a lot less orders for regular GT350's for the 2018MY.

Of the 526 R's built for the 2016MY Canada got 70 cars with America getting 452 and 4 went for export to I believe the Caribbean.

The red doesn't make since to me. No stripes for the R...???...we'll see what they do with the orange.

The red outline stripe doesn't work on a red car. No stripes on red R's.. if you find one it's been done by the owner and not the factory.
