I am 99% certain that I want to drop (increase?) from 3.73 to 3.31 in my procharged 2015 GT PP. Only it seems at this point that the selection of 3.31 gears for 2015+ is non-existent. A few articles seem to mention the Ford Performance gears with part number M-4209-88331A (the A being the important distinction to indicate 2015+) but nobody seems to actually stock them.

Does anyone have some input as to a good source for a new 3.31 set and accompanying installation necessities?

I just did the swap a couple weeks ago. Late Model Restoration had the gear.

Looks good. Did you order anything else from them to go along with this? M-4210-B3 seems to be the parts kit to go along with 2015+ gear sets.

I ordered the parts kit but ended up returning it as it wasn't needed. The gear came with everything that was needed. I only have 8k on my car and didn't really think I needed to replace all of the hearings the kit came with.

i currently have the 3.55 (factory upgrade) in my car and have toyed with the idea of dropping to the 3.31 but not sure how beneficial it will be.. did you notice much difference going from 3.73 to 3.31?

Big difference,i can now go the 1/4 in 4th gear.It did lose some of its snap on initial wot but stays in each gear longer which keeps the car in boost longer.

Yea 355 to 331 imo is not going to be worth the change.Just not that much difference in gears.

THIS is why these forums are so great. I was just coming online to post a similar question. Having a Roush installed this weekend, right now I'm running 3.73's, the guy doing my work has 3.55's, thinking about doing a straight trade. He wants my 3.73's...But then, I also have heard I should go 3.31's, so I'm on the fence. If we just swap differentials, is it a straight swap fitment wise between the two?

I used the Ford procedure for removing the actual pumpkin. That was fairly easy. I wasn't about to attempt the ring and pinion swap myself, so I paid a Ford tech I know to do that on the side. I upgraded by differential bolts to the ones offered by BMR since I already had it taken apart.

Its not worth goi g 373 to 355 now 373 to 331 is quite a difference. If u dont track your car i would stay with the 373,alot more fun.
