I want to see how long your MT82 + RXT combos have been living.

I am starting to sense a band wagon theory on the RXT clutch breaking the MT82. I am only aware of one professional source (Ben Calimer) who has openly confirmed the RXT to be a route cause of a lot of MT82 failures. I want to see what people are really seeing.

My first MT82 - replaced stock clutch at 4500 miles with RXT. Ran NA for 3500 miles. Boosted for 1800 miles then Boom.
Second MT82 - Boosted for 1400 miles with same RXT then boom.
Third MT82 - Nope , went to TR6060... so far so good 1100 hard miles.

40,000 miles and no issues. I just swapped to an RST when I had to replace the throwout bearing. Wanna buy my RXT?

I went with the RST and steel flywheel right before putting the Whipple on my car. I went RST because of the people shearing the teeth off the gears in the trans. So far so good, I have about 3500 miles sine the Whipple install. I can tell you though this RST won't take the slipping abuse a ceramic clutch will take and I am full street with my car. I am sure the RST won't take to hot lapping at the strip and I am probably at the power limit of the clutch.

I'm literally in the exact same boat. I think I'm going to sell my never-used RXT and go a different route. I don't take my car to the track or launch hard, however after reading about guys breaking their MT82s going from 2-3 or 3-4... I'd rather avoid that scenario.

Its not just the clutch,i noticed alot of guys breaking are running aluminum drive shafts and have the real cradle almost soikd mounted.Stock driveshaft has rubber bushings that absorb alot of shock and me personally dont like using metal bushings for cradle support. If your over 700 whp and go to the track and run sticky tires the rst will not last, that quote right from mcleod, call them and ask them.If u dont have sticky tires at that hp,your cars not fast anyway lol.

Mine had an RXT from ~7k miles to 26k miles before going boom. I was actually impressed by the transmission. The tranny had many daily miles and over 300 track passes on a sticky tire with many high RPM clutch dumps. Although I did change the transmission fluid over to the BG recommended stuff very early on.
