Tremec 3660

Does anyone know how durable the tremec 3660 trans is compared to the mt82.Like to hear from some of the gt350 guys that are putting some power through these.

Yea you are correct 3160,sorry about that,i know that trans uses syncros almost the same as the 60/60,and it use a dual/mass flywheel that helps absorb alot of the shock that goes through the trans.Just doing research because the rxt is going in this week and if/when it breaks looking for options.The 6060 conversion would cost a good bit more then doing an auto swap from my figures.I know their are a couple high hp 3160's out their and just wondering how they are holding up as that would be alot cheaper conversion.

You could try Darin Stocker at Tremec. ([email protected])( +1 (734) 456-3748). He should be able to answer questions or direct you to the right folks regarding the 3160, and 3160 vs. the 6060, as well as any other options they have. Hennessey and Lethal performance are putting a lot of power through these, may also be able to reach out to them.

I happen to have one I'm looking to part with out of my tech pack if you're interested. 5,600 miles....I upgraded to same one with internal pump: wanted to be as stock as possible so upgraded to one with pump + oem cooler kit.
