2017 GTPP, manual, about 1,250 miles. Since day 1, when cold - shifting easy at various RPM range I have this slight grind sound and feel through the shifter on the 1st to 2nd shift.

There is almost too much information on the forum for this transmission so I'm not sure where to begin. Yep, still under warranty of course so that is an option, but not a fan of dropping my car off to the dealer for much of anything.

Has anyone had this specific issue? Wondering if I have air in the clutch hydraulic system maybe. I have read a great deal on swapping the MT82 fluid, but everyone's experiences seem to differ.

Appreciate any advice.

Like actual grind or just notchiness?

It's actually difficult to describe. Almost as if there is a very slight, quick grind along with notchiness. My wife and son can both hear it and feel it in the car from the passenger side. It's not obnoxious, but it's present for sure. On warm days, no issue. This is why I wonder if a fluid change may help out.

I'm in the same boat. 17 GTPP with 2k miles. Mine does it on the 2-3 shift though. But it only feels that way on a lazy/easy shift. Also curious if it's the tranny or just a fluid issue. I have the BG SyncroShift ready to go in just have to find the time to get it done.

Mine does the same thing with 1,400 miles and I second that, for me its only on the lazy/easy shifts.

Its called nipping...once it warms up it goes away...correct? The cure for it is a fluid change. The BG product seems to do wonders for it. I used the Amsoil mixture when I had ran the MT82 and it made it go away also. Shifter and fluid changes to the MT82 cars made them feel like a total different car.

Yeah mine goes away once I drive the car for a few minutes. I figured it was just something do with the fluid. Maybe that'll be my incentive to go ahead and find the time to get the BG in lol.

I have the 1-2 nibble. Double clutching or a 2-3 second pause in neutral between shifts calms it down. Or 1-3 shift.

I believe this was actually designed in America (Getrag), then manufactured in Asia. There is a lot of overseas content on most American vehicles.

Switched out the fluid to the BG and that nibble from 2nd to 3rd is gone. Definitely a big improvement over the stock fluid.

Royal Purple Syncro-Max also cured the 1-2 Cold nibble for me.
