I have noticed that the dead pedal doesn't have the stainless steel look like the gas, brake and clutch pedals on either auto or manual models. Most of the major vendors have this product in either brushed or polished steel, probably all a Scott Drake part. It seems the brushed is the closest match to the other pedals, as the bird says in this clip from American Muscle. It seems a bit weird to me they didn't put one on the dead pedal. Anyway, here is the link. CJ Pony Parts have a similar story to tell.

Actually not sure if brushed or polished is the way to go. Either way looks ok in the pics.

Careful guys I just put one in and it doesn't fit properly, the slots are to wide and it over hangs to one side because the carpet gets in the way !!

I was wondering about the transmission tunnel being too close. Can you actually make it fit with a bit of pressure or it just won't fit at all? Maybe, it just isn't meant to be, would be a shame, looks a bit weird that it isn't all the same. Them's the breaks (brakes). lol.

dead pedal photos

OK I have the dead pedal cover now.

It is quite a bit larger than our dead pedal as are the slots.

I have sent the photos to American car craft and will await their reply.

In the mean time I'm thinking that I can reduce the width of the plate to better match the pedal and round off the edges a bit.
cant do anything about the slots tho.

when i get it sorted I,ll update you all.

dead pedal cover fitted

I took the cover plate to a local sheet metal shop today.
we decided to trim the sides, the first cut with adhesive side up actually cut and bent the side up.
the guy was like... oh crap, so we did the other side cutting with the adhesive side down, well it cut and rounded the side at the same time, :headbang:

so tonight I cleaned it up shaped it a little, and I think it came out ok.

excuse the dirt on the floor

Any chance he would do this as part of his business?

We purchase and send to him, and pay upfront for his costs to do it and send back to us?

just an update on the dead pedal cover.
I never received a reply to my email to American car craft. ???

the guy I went to wasn't keen on doing the mod to others.
would be cheaper to find some who could manufacture them from our pedal measurements rather than modify the US version.

OK, I have managed to find a dead pedal cover for rhd mustangs. I haven't received mine yet, only ordered it on Monday but it was shipped inside 24 hours. There is a seller on the UK ebay website who is in Germany and makes them for the UK market it seems. There is only 1 or 2 advertised at a time but am thinking more can be made when necessary. You don't have to join ebay to buy it. You can buy it as a guest and put in credit card details and then track it through the code they give you when they send it to your email address.
